SOUND FOR LIFE

The summer of 2008, the Echo Inspectors are touring Germany. One of their stops lands them in Koln, after getting their fix of record shopping at Kompakt they would meet up at a local bar with Pawas who just remixed their latest record. Joining the guys for a mid afternoon beer would be local producer and friend of Pawas, Adam Kroll.

Fast forward to 2020 and Adam would reappear on the radar as Adam K.Roll with a fresh new dub sound, completely different to the minimal techno records of the mid 2000’s. This fresh take on dub would capture the interest of the Echo Inspectors.

Many DM’s later would lead to Adam producing five fresh tunes for Primary Colours.

Trying to describe Adam’s music is not easy. Adam seamlessly blends the sounds of Dub Techno, Ambience, Electronica, Jamaican Dub and an infusion of summer island sounds.

Primary Colours has the honour of re-releasing one of their favourite Adam K.Roll tunes, Into The Ocean, initially released digitally on Adam’s on Bandcamp page, Into the Ocean has been reborn on wax. We loved it so much that we got the Echo Inspectors to remix it into a formidable dub techno groover.

Kick back, sip on a fine whiskey, light a little number and immerse your aural senses to the sounds of The Final Call.

B2 - Heliospheric

A transmission materialised in our inbox.  Initially veiled in suspicion, this clandestine missive tantalised us with it's cryptic origins.   I mean you just dont ignore emails with subject a title like; "Your Prize Awaits!" do you??

Trepidation aside, we delved in, this is a dub techno mix from a source unknown, known only as AARO.  With a few new and older recognisable tracks we can only surmise that it is someone with their eyes (and ears) wide open.

Lets hope this is the first on many disclosed mixes becasue we like what we hear.

Sleney aka Daniel Lalenkov was born in 1996 in the city of Yartsevo. His introduction to music came after he got a CD player. At that time, he was attracted to hard guitar music, but later Daniel's tastes were formed and he began to be attracted to other music. Depeche Mode, Prodigy, Scooter and Nirvana recordings have appeared in his music library. One day Moby sounded from the speakers of the tape recorder, this music was unlike anything previously heard. The smoothness, uniqueness and atmosphere were truly a special sound at that time, remembered for a long time by the future musician.
 
Since the beginning of 2020, the artist has started a new stage in his musical activity. He began to study the FL Studio program in more depth, experimenting in it, and began to come to his unique sound, creating a recognizable handwriting. In the same year, he created his own public VKontakte, began recording mixes that were published by various music communities.

Today Sleney writes music and hosts his own podcast, with the headings “DubAtmosphere” and “ambineo". His music is released on the labels Techenie (@techenierec), PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB (@piranha-siberia) and Audio Channel. His music is inspired by nature. Daniel creates from the depths of his soul, not adhering to the canonical sound and rules. That is why his music turns out to be so atmospheric and original. In some of his compositions, he uses field recordings, due to this, his compositions become more lively, atmospheric and nostalgic, awakening warm memories in the listener.
