Originally formed in 1999 playing authentic Jamaican Ska with a blend of Jazz, the band consisted at some point of: Matthias, Jakob (dr), Philipp (b), Bruno (b, g), Emi (g), Jay (p), Franz (tb), Peter, Thomas (tp), Christian (bs), Christian (ts), Wolfgang (as, ts), Foxxy, Aminata (voc). Following Jay's departure to the UK, the group disbanded in 2004.

Music is a key to emotions and inspiration. It is - like every expression - a vehicle for love and freedom. I am looking to bring love with my music and to the stage whenever we perform.  I admire jamaican ska and reggae music. 
 I am playing trumpet, looping it. Dubbing stuff. Singing, jamming in the streets, in pubs and in people's flats. Looking to inspire and to make it sound good.

Sir Jay & The Skatanauts are a traditional Ska band from Switzerland playing Latin/Jazz/R&B infused 60s Jamaican Ska.
