Début 2015, SwitchyDub sort son premier opus «Birth» en auto-promotion, un an plus tard et fort de ces 25.000 écoutes, SwitchyDub vous présente son nouveau projet musical intitulé : 
«Anti-gel»

Né aux confins de la Nièvre, entouré par une nature verdoyante, le contraste entre la vie urbaine et celle de la campagne est à l’origine de ce 6 titres.

Arsenic, Anti-gel, Corrosion, Anhydride, Mutagene et Hydroxyde, titres des chansons, sont entre autres des éléments ou composés chimiques de la rouille, symbole de l'immobilisme et de la décomposition.
Quoi de plus naturel alors que d’intitulé cet opus «Anti-gel», parfait antonyme de ces symboles.

Le tempo de cet opus fait aussi parti de cette approche, ne décrochant pas du 150 bpm celui-ci entraîne le pas de l’auditeur dans une danse effrénée qui l’emmènera jusqu’au dernier morceau.

Autodidacte, SwitchyDub est imprégné par la scène hardtech (TNT, InfraBass, Spiral) mais aussi des groupes tels que Zenzile ou HighTone)

Après un live au Glazart (Paris) en compagnie de Yayoland, Art-x &, Barbes D, un showcase pour Gueret2dub, la date InaDubSèvre sur le sound système Shamani, SwitchyDub continue à défendre son projet scénique à travers la France.

Mélangeant passages harddub et envoutant, SwitchyDub espère par cet opus, apporter sa touche au courant musical Stepper et ravir vos oreilles par ses sonorités.

Scotch Bonnet Records revels in the sheer breadth of reggae and dancehall for their second daringly diverse Puffers Choice compilation. Following the success of 2016’s volume 1, the label arm of Glasgow’s Mungo’s HiFi has selected more cream cuts from their globe-trotting link-ups
 
celebrating sound system culture. Once again, each track comes vetted and endorsed by the Scotch Bonnet team as prime examples of their work.
The album starts with the beguiling, mellow tones of late great Rasta singer Bim Sherman. Lightning and Thunder is a Mungo’s remix of a vocal supplied by master producer/engineer Adrian Sherwood. Next up is French collective Subactive’s aquatic dub imagining of Follow Me by UK Garage/Grime project Wolves, featuring the voice of Bo* Johnson.
Another veteran revisits his past when hypnotic Jamaican deejay Supercat straddles Chief Rockas’ update of the classic Gunshot riddim for a reprise of “the Don Dada’s” 1982 hit Dance Inna New York. The vibes then travel bang up to date with a sparse Mungo’s fix of ethereal singer-songwriter Nem’s 2017 eco-breakout Purest Force.
Jamaican chanter Isha Bel pays tribute to her faith and follicles during Locks, given a belly-battering bass blend by Aquarius. The A side closes with a continuation of the Rasta theme. General Jah Mikey, channelling Burning Spear for his own Ites Green and Gold, rides a deft digital riff by bald-head New Zealand-based super-producer Naram.
The B side kicks off with a meeting of reggae’s finest from the city of Leeds. Danny T and Tradesman build an industrial-strength base for anti-violence lament Up Deh: a rare vocal outing from Iration Steppas’ Mark Iration. Then it’s time for Poland’s Dreadsquad to ease the pressure with swinging one- drop vibraphone instrumental Space.
JA meets “Glasgae” for Feel Good, an uplifting collab between Jamaican singer Skari and Scottish producer Escape Roots. Fans of Prince Fatty covering Kraftwork on the previous comp will rate vintage reggae voice Earl Sixteen, wrapping his pristine pipes around Joy Division’s Love Will Tear Us Apart, helmed hauntingly by Capitol 1212.
Scotch Bonnet’s own Thomas Stalawa gets everyone marching to a beat inspired by Steely and Clevie’s Dem Bow, as dangerous Spanish emcee Ponchita Peligros demands all in attendance Run the Calypso. The album ends with a request from un-categorisable Israeli collective Trillion featuring General G that puffers choose wisely - via anti-cigarette missive No Nicotine.
The Scotch Bonnet crew think you’ll agree: Puffers Choice volume 2 continues the bass-heavy balance of budding and seasoned performers, from “yard and abroad”. It’s another outer-national reggae and dancehall party you’ll pull up and play, again and again.

Legalize the Herb - Brother Culture [Evidence Music]

Singer/Songwriter Kumar presents his solo debut single "It's Alright". Produced by Robert Livingston and Llamar "Riff Raff" Brown and written by Kumar, the pop infused reggae track is a perfect introduction to the artist. To launch his new music, he is currently on his "Stand Firm: Europe Winter Acoustic Tour" through December 15th. 

Kumar first captured the spotlight as the lead singer for acclaimed roots reggae band Raging Fyah. With distinctive haunting vocals, Kumar picked up a 2017 Grammy Nomination for his work on Raging Fyah’s ‘Everlasting’ as well as millions of streams across Spotify and YouTube. With extensive touring in Europe and the States, Kumar has shared the stage with artists such as UB40, Tribal Seeds, and The Green, to name a few.

In the studio Kumar has put out a steady stream of collaborations including recent duet alongside Alborosie (still with Raging Fyah), the re-imagined Metallica classic "The Unforgiven" in a reggae style, receiving millions of streams across Spotify and Youtube and mainstream radio support in the states. In late 2018 after lengthy deliberation and meditation, Kumar made the decision to leave Raging Fyah and pursue a career as a solo artist focused on pursuing his own artistic vision.

“We heard the track and immediately felt that it could connect with audiences who love reggae and beyond,” said Chris Chin, President at VP Records. “Kumar is a great talent with a hunger for success and we are happy to share this new journey with him.”
