Been a second, but back with a very fresh recording from twin faves Twinsanity @tw_ins tw_ins tw_ins!

Recorded live on a hazy morning at Spincycle at Killing Time last month (the after-hours project from @becarmstrongmusic and @terrytec), this is a 3 hour trip through the dirtiest, whackiest, sludgy-bass minimal bombs that these two have up their sleeve. Pure get Perlonized heat +++!! 

These two are some of the freshest deejays around at the moment and it's an honour to share such a special live recording that showcases everything the twins do best. Enjoy the ride 🌀🌀

A love letter to Moonshoe not only showing a more laid back side of BVP but also paying homage to the early discs of the label, and too, the more recent dubbed and clubbed ventures. The ultimate house warmer, strung together with Jan Jelinekish crackles, pops and jazzy chops. An undoubtedly versatile listening session; suitable for a cold winters day or a hazy summer night alike - We do hope you like.

#98 calls for a special appearance by my dear friend, and very talented dj/ creator @voxsupreme. Lounes and I met on the beach at waking life festival in 2019 and have been friends ever since, now having done two ambient b2bs, at ADE in Amsterdam in 2019, and then coming full circle, we met at waking life 2022 for our second b2b. 

I consider him a master of all things ambient and electronica.. constanty impressed by the music he shares and plays. Clearly though, his dj'ing doesn't stop at ambient, with a crazy diversity of styles .. from dubstep and dnb to electro, breaks, techno and everything in between. 

Lounes is the man behind the ethereal dreamworld that is @traumgarten - a special collective focused on downtempo/experimental music and events. I'm always so impressed by the love, thought and creativity that goes into his events, alongside his partner Marinka who often contributes too.

Lots of love Lounes and so happy to finally have you as part of the series! <3

Matt Sabbadini aka Third Space (also Nice Setting, and ½ of Knotting) has always conveyed an energetic and deep passion for sound - both through his diverse outputs and our interactions. 

An electronic artist with a focus on modular synthesis, Matt works from a foundation of experimentation. Upon this foundation Matt’ expertly builds hypnotic expressions of experimental electronic music in manifold ways. Much of Third Space’s work tethers the line between chaos and calm, with well orchestrated moments of urgent uneasy percussion, deep and luscious textures and austere DnB inflicted rhythms. 

His debut long player ‘Scissor Kick’ ventures away from a punchier, sometimes club-ready sound found via his three past EPs. Scissor Kick favours deep undulating atmospherics and softly sweeping percussion that beckons introspection. Third Space simply has no ‘signature style’ - he effortlessly escapes categorisation, challenging listeners to break down the metaphorical bounds of genre, urging your attention towards sound and feeling in place of song.

Introduce yourself? Pronouns? Where do you currently reside? 

Hello! My name is Tanner Hockey AKA DJ Hockey (he/him). Currently I reside in Vancouver, B.C Canada

Who/what currently inspires you music-wise that has nothing to do with music?

Daily impressions and my emotional state is a source of inspiration. When I go to mix at home I often select based on how I am feeling, or a mood I want to project.

Describe in detail your favorite place to sit & listen to music.

Rather than sitting, my preference for music listening is walking. My walk to and from work is around 30 minutes and I can generally finish an hour mix a day. This time is meditative as I tune everything around me out and focus on the music and walking.

Any advice to upcoming DJs/producers?

Production for me is rewarding, but tough work. I can fall into periods where the thought of starting a new project can seem daunting, on the flip side I can be very addicted to a project once started. Finding one source of inspiration can be all it takes to push yourself into a new project. Re-interpreting an element of an old song is often helpful for me.  

Favorite BPM and why?

I really enjoy 130-135 as it’s a pace that can have drive but people can still marathon dance, or at least I can :).

What would you like to see in the future for the dance community?

More protection for DIY spaces from gentrification and recognition of their cultural importance at municipal levels.
