Cautious shadows crawl the ceiling,
Spider-silk threads of doubt unwind.
Eyes like lanterns, walls are breathing,
Laughter drips like wax in time.

Copper air and static thunder,
Pulse a war drum in my chest.
I’m the ghost I can’t outrun here,
Chained to wheels that never rest.

I whisper through the static,
This is just a ride.
This is just a slide through the night,
But the mirrors crack and shiver,
And reason flickers out of sight.

How do you change a mind so stubborn,
That it won’t believe the dawn will break?
How do you tell the one in the maze,
That the walls are fog and shadows fake?

If I could whisper to the storm,
Would I know?
Or would I let the dark devour me whole,
One more time before I go?

The floor melts soft like candle tallow,
Rooms dissolve in swirling haze.
Every door a darker hollow,
Every window, haunted gaze.

I reach for threads of golden reason,
But they slip between my hands.
Oh, if I could hold the sunlight,
Would I light this dying land.

I whisper through the static,
This is just a ride.
The ghosts will fade with the tide,
But my voice is thin as paper,
And I circle flame like moths that died.
