Last year the four piece band released their debut EP on Sydney’s Plastic World, a perfectly measured mix of summery synth pop and tropical disco. It was called "Together", and it brought unity and feelings of shared happiness to nightclubs and pool parties everywhere.

"Altruisme" is their latest single, and another sure sign that Retiree are only looking out for us. The track combines vintage machine drum rhythms, new wave guitar licks, the sounds of the sea, and some haunting French vocals to create a slow funk jam. Electric Forest was the most beautiful festival experience I’ve ever had. Lots of incredible surprises and moments: between moving to the Sherwood Court on WKND1, to play on Tripolee during a hot day (but still having so many of you guys hanging out with me!!), and to have an additional set on Jubilee at night on WKND2… I came back to France sooo inspired!

It was a must for me to share this mix with you, as playing there was one of my dreams, and I want to thank all of you for being there during this amazing journey. I’m now very happy to share with you my mix from the Sherwood Court Stage (The Tripolee set was 90% similar).

Combining their love of folk, blues, and electronic music, Nathan Gurley and Sean Rodman are blazing their own trail, merging musical worlds previously unacquainted and capturing audiences along the way.

Since connecting in their rural hometown through a shared love of music, the pair’s chemistry was instantly apparent. With Gurley at the production helm and Rodman on songwriting and vocals, they’ve birthed an authentically raw and seductive sound infusing grassroots blues, wistful soul, and gritty, boot­stomping bass. Their breakout organic hit “Home” has surpassed 1 million streams and their music is frequently licensed for film and television.
