Madloch’s Sound Avenue imprint welcomes Jean Caillou back to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Zurich, the Swiss artist has established himself in the world of organic house with releases on Magician On Duty, RYNTH, Sag and Tre and Underyourskin Records. Having made his Sound Avenue debut in 2019 with a remix of Joe Miller’s ‘The Last Of The Great Days’, Jean further established a bond with the label in 2020, reworking Bigasti & Balad’s ‘The Days’. Now returning to Sound Avenue for his first original project, Jean presents his ‘Departure Unknown’ EP, alongside a remix from Daniel Van Der Zwaag.

Spread across four tracks, Jean Caillou’s ‘Deeparture Unknown’ is an eclectic blend of electronica, organic and melodic house. Emotionally compelling throughout, the journey begins with the dulcet beats and dusty percussion of 'There'. It's romantic overtones and intriguing vocal stylings make for an irresistible first act, before emerging atmospheres blanket the proceedings for a chilling finale.

Tapping into the very vein of melodic techno they’ve become key exponents of over the years, this new EP finds Vizioli and Morabito serving up a trio of rolling club weapons primed for hectic night rides and sweat-inducing sessions both on and off the dancefloor. Featuring da Believer on vocals, the title-cut 'Different People' engineers a clever mix of 80s Casio synths, seesawing bass and cold-wave influence, all woven under the standard of M oonwalk’s trademark minimalistic sound design. 

Driven by a fevered momentum of EBM-laced arpeggios, the gravity-defying 'Lunar Field' flies us off to an otherworldly sonic journey where lusher-than-lush synth tapestries and melancholy-drenched echoes freely embrace and entangle symbiotically. Peppered with Narya’s sensuously ethereal vocals, 'Beyond The Lines' then subtly veers off into further introspective, trancey pop-informed territories. 

Easing us in its own bubble of weightless chords and cottony harmonics, the track keeps on swelling and blooming, slowly but surely morphing into a steadfast, open-air fest big-mover. Lovers of streamlined techno-house with a deep melodic twist rejoice, Moonwalk are your hosts for an adventurous jaunt into the wild blue yonder.

We’re very thankful that Joseph is keeping us in the loop with his productions since quite some time now. Many of his tracks fit in our sets perfectly and it has only been a matter of time to work on a release for Siamese. Eventually the 'Episode 8' EP was born and we’re happy to showcase his diversity in musical writing. 

'Episode 8' was the first song that caught our attention and set the foundation for this release. It felt like the perfect follow up to Joseph’s 'Eavesdrop', released on the 20 Years Cocoon compilation earlier this year. One of our very few shows in 2020 at Caprice has been the final testing ground for 'Episode 8' and the like-minded 'Cobalt'. Both tracks deliver plenty of energy for the dancefloors that we all miss so much and we can’t wait for you to hear these two on a big sound system. The eponymous track possesses a unique and trippy composition that builds and multiplies in intensity before the break circles back to a burst of synaesthesia-inducing array of colors. 'Cobalt' is slicing through its 7 minutes with a driving baseline and a very unique sounding synth stab, an idea perfectly executed and without any unnecessary features. 

On a slightly different note we got 'Sheen' and ‚Righteous' rounding off this EP. While 'Episode 8' and 'Cobalt' ask for being played on a festival or dark sweaty club, these two call attention with a softer sound design and smoother melodies. They will also work just great on the dancefloor but also have a certain listening feel we found very appealing when finalizing the release. All in all a fantastic package that we hope you will enjoy as much as we do!

Joseph Ashworth - Cobalt

Catalogue number 100. No big deal, one could argue - after all 3000Grad strives to deliver 100 percent with each and every release. But well, of course this round anniversary is quite an appropriate reason to get all weepy-eyed and to look back into the golden light of memory. What is it Mollono.Bass and Marc Vogler glimpse there? Unforgettable Times, obviously. With its undertone of sweet melancholia and distinctly ecstatic vibes this tune is made to cause exactly those moments of blissful rapture it was inspired by. Which brings us to yet another 100, namely Kombinat100. In celebration of the special occasion they share one of their previously unreleased hits that was skimmed right from the boiling point of their legendary live sets. Whatever T.T.Z.T. actually stands for - it clearly has to do with earthy, dubby, deep and playful danceability.

First discovered by Solomun in 2014, Undercatt were then signed to his label Diynamic, where they've since released such successful tracks, as Futura and Brittania. The critically acclaimed Italian duo have over the years gained support from Tale Of Us to Kolsch and Pete Tong has made them Essential New Tune 3 times the past year including their latest single  "Cadabra" which also gained heavily support along by BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac

The new label is called NOTTURNA because it's made for the people of the night, the Nocturnal An imals. People who feel at home in the darkness and in sparkling  lights, the outsiders of the "normal" daily routine. During the night people show their true faces, secrets arises, the duo explains.

The first E.P. contains 'Atlantico' the long time and awaited track from the Undercatt fans + *Alien' a speciale favourite and regular track in Solomun's sets, who has been the only who has had it since June.
