Before the lyrics & sample source, a brief story - 

Rav has been one of my largest lyric and production inspirations since I started listening to him about 6 or 7 years ago. Some of my first ever raps were on top of his instrumentals, and some of my first ever beats I put Rav acapellas on to see how they sounded. 

Cut to a few months ago and I made a track I was pretty proud of, and wanted to do some Rav-style shit on top of it. Unfortunately, since I moved to college I haven't had my own room, so I haven't been able to record lyrics. I decided to pack up my mic, interface, headphones, and old shitty laptop in my backpack, and drive to a construction site at the edge of town to record lyrics until my laptop died. (~1 hr)

I recorded lyrics in the Driver's side seat for about an hour until my laptop died, then headed back to my dorm to edit the audio into a song, fittingly named "Driver's Side". The next day I walked to where I had parked my car off-campus, to find it broken into. My driver's side window had gotten smashed in, getting glass and rain all over my car. Nothing of significant value was taken except my VIP Rav lanyard that I had gotten when I saw him perform live in Portland. 

Truly tragic, and a hell of a coincidence. RIP my Rav lanyard, and $250. 
I originally wasn't going to post this anywhere, cause I was mad about my car window, but I thought it was too good a story not to share without the song. (Kinda old but whatever)

And every fucking day here is a hundred bucks, they robbed us!

I go to a shift, work my ass off for 7 hours Cool! Worked of 1 chem lecture, 'kay lets hit the showers
Oh yeah they're communal, ain't that a fuckin treat? 
2 are broken, 1 has vomit, 1 has piss right at my feet
Here alone cause it's the only place where I can be myself 
Spending way too much money on gas, need to be somewhere else 
Maybe go to cascades, maybe college gettin shelved 
What the fuck am I doing?? Highschool just left me hella burnt
Want a summer break without record temps cause that shit hurt
No- Now I'm just back at it, procrastination habits, oh my god fuck it I've had it
Right now my plan is doin something to let me get out 
Cause even with a degree, I still won't get to buy a house 
So what's the point? 40 grand to do a job I hate? 
This ISN'T the endgame, I swear I need a fucking break

So I keep writing, every damn day 
Maybe one of em I'll wake up, and have good shit to say 
Someone reciprocates, I get a couple shares 
Maybe it's used in a TikTok, and I need some air...
Maybe it goes viral, and I'll fill some chairs 
And If that happens I will- go anywhere 
That isn't a college, isn't a suburb, aint' a shitty town If I am acknowledged, Ill kick the curb, pack up and travel around 
Maybe solo, maybe bring a friend, it's all too much to bare 
Then maybe I'll wake up again, and shocker! No one really cared
