I used to see the same girl on the train to London everyday, she looked like Buffy The Vampire Slayer. She was beautiful, but I was a geeky songwriter with my walkman on and notebook. What was I going to do?  
(This was years before the book and movie with the same name came out.)

Sat on the train going to work one day, just looking out the window day dreaming. I saw an engraving in a railway track say 2>21. It made me think that 2 into 21 doesn't go, make 21 someone's house number and add a couple, hear what happened!

As one of my biggest influences, Buddy Holly is kinda special to me, his were the first songs I mastered when learning to play the guitar. When I was young I did listen to those Rock n Roll records like I say in the song. Sat in the spare bedroom with an old record player watching the 45’s drop down onto the deck and the needle jump in and out.  This song is imagining what it would have been like to be in a Buddy Holly and The Crickets tribute band. Having such a great time turned everyday into a Holly Day.
