@LauraBCR has her ear to the ground. The French DJ and On Board Music label founder is always on the lookout for new music to spin, or for artists to join her monthly Rinse France radio show. She takes her name from the much-loved and now closed, Berlin record store, Bass Cadet Records, where she spent a couple of years behind the counter. These days, Laura is best known for her transportive, deep techno and dubby ambient DJ sets, which have brought her to some of Europe’s finest venues, including a residency at Het Magazijn in The Hague. Her own productions first surfaced in 2020 and were included on both of On Board Music’s stand-out, charity compilations. More original music is in the works, as well as a continuous evolution behind the decks.

VASARA is a Lithuanian DJ based in London. Her whole life is related to music; starting from singing and dancing classes to now producing her own music and creating banging sets. She is part of Lithuanian techno community ‘@orkaite’, several of her sets have been played on the radio and is preparing for upcoming gigs. VASARA during her sets loves to play with colours and emotions. You will always hear hard kick, acid notes, and experience different emotions with hard and industrial sounds, subtle vocals. Her music taste varies from different genres such as old school Detroit house and dark Berlin EBM which shapes VASARA’S personality and her upcoming own tracks. “I want people to feel what I am trying to express with my music”.

For our next show we are happy and glad to invite Cacophoneuses. 
Since 2011, Joséphine (Lyon, FR) and Sandra (Metz, FR), the french duo of friends CACOPHONEUSES, explore and produce a techno tinted with industrial and saturated sounds. Their lives on machines are all unique because they leave room for improvisation on stage to make the adrenaline rush. They have enchanted crowds since their spectacular appearance at the respected techno industrial festival La Fondation Sonore in 2013 (Brussels), followed by nothing less than a Maschinenfest gig. In 2015, they joined the Wave Gothik Treffen Festival in Leipzig. In 2016, one of their dreams became real : playing at TRESOR Club in Berlin for the Female Pressure 006 event organized by Dj Kaltès.
In 2013, they self-produced their first album Venus Voices. In 2014, they signed on the German Label HANDS and released their second album The Myth of Lorelei which follows their self-proclaimed goal to move you inside (and) out. Hearty technoid beats and arcane soundscapes that set the myth of Lorelei to music, an album alluring the listener into the world of this fresh duo, in the no-man's-land between rhythm'n'noise and techno. In 2018, they released their their third album Chaos Theory  (HANDS).

When we created the label in 2017, our idea was to push new talents and to create an artist community following our philosophy. The six tracks here describe well the universe we want to promote, raw, mental and sci-fi techno with a big attention to details and sound design. 

The various starts with a close friend of the label Soul Tide Zone that show us another side of his project with a powerful ambient track “Oracle”. Then comes “Tembeling”, produced by one of the label manager 9beats, mixing sci-fi forest ambiance with a strong organic bassline. Third track “A.I.” is from the Lyon based DJ and composer Nicolas Rifo, fast rolling toms with a dark atmosphere will guide you on this one. The first part of the various shows that CWR is not intended to focus on one style but more on the emotion and ambiance of the tracks. 

Second part starts with the parisian based modularist dc11 and his track “Electron”. He took our attention these last months, dropping really strong and precise techno that clearly match the label. Then comes “Supo x1000” from Mersel that will easily find a place on your sets. Last artist highlight on this release is Benabou with her track “Torment”, mixing analog percussions with a strong lead.

Georgian multi-media artist is highly inspired by esoteric, mystic, new age, cosmic and visionary art and teachings, which hold a huge role and are a source of constant inspiration in artist’s art and life in general. His sound is often described as cosmic, spherical, light, visionary, innovative, tribal and hypnotic. All these interpretations blossom and unite in his production.

Since 2015, Sanjib takes us into an authentic and richly textured world between ambient and dub-techno. Behind this name is hidding a Lyon based artist, eager to share an electronic music especially focused on emotions, a universe dedicated to travel and introspection. After many EP’s released on the label of his early beginnings, Lett Records, it’s in 2018 that he produced his first album, «From Earth to Heaven», a smooth and poetic techno opus which will receive great feedbacks. Particularly prolific on the production side, his works can also be found on Warok Music, Precept, One Instruments, and more recently, the brilliant south korean label Oslated.
Constantly adapting and mixing his tracks with new creations, his live performances are always a unique experience. Surrounded by a few machines and also one deck that he uses as a sampler, Sanjib takes us into a mysterious and immersive travel in which are melting dub-techno infused rhythms and floating soundscapes.

For the 32nd episode of our podcast series, we are very happy to great the Berlin-based DJ Sabine Hoffmann.

Playing last summer at our Ambient open air Art Bei Ton x Waxing Phases, she brings us, through her Ambient/Techno set, to meditate between some atmospheric and cosmic vibes.

Sabine was born and raised in Berlin. She grew up listening to a diverse array of hip hop, soul, funk and crossover beats. Sabine discovered her passion for spinning vinyl around the early 2000’s, when she was first exposed to electronic music. She plays a deep blend of techno, electro, Chicago & Detroit house with nuggets of acid, funk and breakbeats rolled in.

But regardless of the style, you will always find Sabine playing vinyl only sets as she prefers the warmth of analog sounds and the classic feel of turntables. She has played at almost all the leading clubs in Berlin such as About Blank, Salon zur wilden Renate, Berghain Kantine, Griessmühle, IPSE, Farbfernseher, Golden Gate, Arena Club and the list goes on. Her international profile has been steadily increasing, she already played in Tbilisi, Paris, Baku, Yerevan, Krakow and Thessaloniki to name a few.

Sabine is the founder of “Frauengedeck”. It´s an event series focusing on an all female line up. She wants to support and present female DJs. She has held many events at different clubs throughout Berlin like Wilde Renate, Griessmühle, Farbfernseher and Beate Uwe. The first international events outside of Germany, were held in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia other country's will soon follow.

Since 2016 Sabine works at the well known OYE record shop in Berlin. She is also hosting a monthly Frauengedeck livestream, which is streamed from the OYE record shop.

She finished her Audio Engineering studies at SAE. Inspired by her gained knowledge, she started putting her focus on music production. The first result, a collaboration with No Mad Ronin is available on the label Zaijenroots.
