The compo version you submitted to the Remix64 20th Anniversary Compo was already good enough for 3rd place there, and that had "only" a Mordified synth lead. Here with the sweet, sweet vocal you just elevated this remix to a whole new level. Sounds like those singing lessons Lea gave you have paid off - your voice has improved a LOT, Mordi! ;-) I don't know who came up with the "pop song lyrics" (you, Mordi, or the singer), but it's absolutely fitting. And you did a fantastic job dressing up the solo vocal with harmonies and effects. I just can't say enough good things about this remix! Superb! I think from now on when people chuckle at me that I am totally into remixes of nerdy Commodore-64 SID tunes, I will just show them this song and I'll enjoy watching their jaws drop. Suck it, non-nerds!

A good year or so, after I did the "Links, the Challenge of Golf remix" and said I would tackle this next... it kinda got stuck because so many things happened back then. In addition, the pandemic prevented me from having Børge-Are over to record some real sax lines too. However, today we managed to record some good stuff and more, and this is the result.

Many of you will remember Tex Murphy and his quest to solve the apparently not so regular death of Carl Linsky. The game from Access Software used RealSound™ which were samples that were played through the PC speaker and was pretty awesome for us back then - albeit being very crappy 8-bit and low resolution. Nonetheless, the music used (which I'm sure one of you will tell us in the comments where it originated from) was captivating and very late 80s. So after many years of wanting to remake it, I got around to do it, 32 years later!

Børge-Are graciously came over and recorded some great sax and let me film him playing too. Hopefully this made the song and video even better.

Just one of those songs that came out of nowhere. I felt I hadn't made anything worthwhile in a long time and just started on the initial arpeggio groove, added some Yamaha TX816 bells and leads, and the rest just fell into place like pearls on a string.

I asked my friends Håvard and Terje if they wanted to add some proper guitars instead of the MIDI guitars I laid down initially, and this is the result.  Pull down the roof on your convertible and start cruisin'! ;)
