"'Resilience' was written with a larger piece in mind, the use of broken chords and Klangfarbenmelodie represents the difficulty in becoming who you are in life and in standing up for yourself. It was written as a way of separating my very damaging and difficult childhood from my adult life now, it is a piece that shows the resilience of children and the remarkable things we overcome in our lifetimes, but also gives a hint to the loneliness, pain and scars that we carry with us for the rest of our lives; both physical and emotional. I wanted this piece in the end to bring comfort to those who have experienced similar events to myself but also to bring understanding, inspiration and power to those who have but also those who have not." Resilience

Written for someone who was once a dear friend of mine, but of whom now even the very memory is fading. To you, you wonderfully creative, fragile and gloriously intelligent creature, I hope that in life you have gained everything you strived for and that you deserve, and I hope you find happiness overall. I hope that when I was there, as your friend and confidant, that I did the best I could for you,and that you look back on it fondly. From the one who was once your charming little Retronaut.
