Straight out of Matlock comes Patawawa a trio whose blend of blood-pumping beats, glittered guitar riffs and bass lines that bite results in irrepressibly infectious DIY disco. Hailed by the NME as sounding like "if Calvin Harris time-travelled back in time to Studio 54" with "hints of early Foals and Two Door Cinema Club" and by the Guardian as cooly radiating the sound of "peak-period Nile Rodgers/Bernard Edwards or early Madonna", the band have already scored a huge international hit with their collaboration with French producer Ted Cazey clocking up more than 4 million plays on Spotify alone.

A succession of singles for new French imprint Splinter in 2017 have seen the band cement their position as one of the most exciting new acts around earning support from the likes of BBC 6 Music and leading to brand hook-ups with the likes of Adidas, H&M and Abercrombie & Finch and now the band are getting ready to drop their debut EP, 'Bedroom', titled for the humble space where all their songs have, to date, been written and recorded. ‘Hummingbird’ is the first to be taken from LCAW’s debut EP ‘Meet in the Middle’, which will be released in March. The EP features all new music. Further details to be announced in due course.

‘Hummingbird’ is the result of a London studio session with Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Originally, LCAW had intended a different song for Sophie to perform, but when hearing some of the demos he’d been working on for the EP, Sophie immediately connected with another instrumental work-in-progress.

LCAW: “Hummingbird is a very personal track with a more downbeat vibe, I think this is one of the main reasons Sophie instantly felt connected to it. Her voice has such a unique character and she added a whole other dimension to what I had made before we met. We had the recording session in a small studio in Notting Hill which hosted writing sessions for the likes of Adele, James Blunt and Lana Del Rey and it felt like there was a very special atmosphere”

“‘Hummingbird’ will mark the start of a fresh style for my music in 2018, a modern approach to disco & funk infused dance music and I’m very happy that Sophie is part of it. Putting together my debut EP has been an incredibly exciting time for me and I can’t wait for you to hear the results!”

Kids & Explosions - There Is A Burning Ball Of Fire In Outer Space

One of the underground's hardest-working young producers, Oddisee has built a thorough body of work with a steady stream of albums, mixtapes, collaborations, and instrumental projects. On Rock Creek Park, he breaks us off with 10 joints that are universally chill, loaded with jazz-drenched loops offering wispy flutes, funked-out bass lines, breezy guitar licks, soft horns, and earthy pianos. “Closed After Dark," "Beach Dr.," and the vibraphone-and-ride-cymbal-laced "Mattered Much" are standouts, though the ‘80s-influenced "Uptown Cabaret" and yU collabo "Still Doing It" are also impressive. Though many of the tracks are similar on the low-BPM head-nod tip, they all sound great and make an ideal soundtrack for just keeping it mellow.

More Giraffes was born when musicians Mark Hadley (@harkmadley)  and Keeley Bumford (@dresagemusic) collided over a shared passion for new wave futuristic pop music ideal for the modern attention span. Together, they create colorful songs laced with wit and undeniable melodies, meant to conjure dynamic images you'd double tap in your Instagram feed.  

Mark & Keeley turn to More Giraffes as an artistic playground. There are no rules, expectations, or boundaries. It's the definition of #nofilter and the end result is carefree pop that leaves you smiling or ready to let your freak flag fly. It's the opposite of the daily grind. It's Saturday morning drinking bottomless mimosas with the sun on your face even though you forgot the SPF.
