Cranky Owls is the new collaborative brainchild of two established American producers who have had their collective claws on the pulse of global 'House' music for over two decades. The tongue in cheek name evokes imagery of wise, nocturnal creatures who never seem to get enough sleep. Cranky, but lovable at the same time - these are just a few of the endearing characteristics that the sly production duo possess.  Suffice to say that the name is appropriate and the union of these two industry veterans was a match made in heaven! The melding of their respective musical styles is a unique blend of House music that is deep, soulful and abstact in nature, with a concentrated focus on what moves the dance floor. The first offering is an mesmerizing 8 minute journey simply titled "Times Up" - a subtle reminder and wake up call for all House purists to open their minds to converging styles of house music. Clocking in at a groove friendly 120 BPM, "Times Up" is a bumpin' deep house affair that's been road tested and is versatile enough to work in the main room, as well as more intimate settings. As the title would imply, it could serve as a set closing anthem. “Times Up” features vocal contributions from the 'Owls' themselves and a lil' help from a lady with the midas touch, Solara. A Lil' Bit About Keith:
Keith Evan has played a major role in the deep house community throughout the US dating back to the early 90’s.  For the past 20 years Keith has hung his hat, not only as a dj, but as a globally respected promoter for some of the top dance music gatherings in the United States and Mexico.  His background includes a 13+ year history pioneering the House music movement in Las Vegas. He is the master mind for the world renown Soundbar events; a stage for many of todays most respected DJs including Kerri Chandler, Osunlade, Kenny Dope Gonzales, Rich Medina and Mark Farina. Currently he is globally branded under the Mi Casa Es Su Casa and Ambassadors identities as a touring artist, including executive rolls as a promoter and musical director.  His extensive background includes performing on some of the genre’s highest platforms including Salted w/Miguel Migs, Sublevel w/Doc Martin, and Turntables on the Hudson w/ Nickodemus to name just a few. It was just a matter of time before this award winning DJ/Promoter would make his way into the studio. This natural progression under the newly branded Cranky Owls moniker with Groove Junkies own Evan Landes is a further extension of this visionaries calling. EVAN LANDES BIO
Born and raised in New York & currently residing in Los Angeles, Producer / DJ and record company owner Evan Landes (pka Groove Junkies, Cranky Owls, Nimble Digits) has gained wide support and respect throughout the international dance community over two decades for his consistent quality of work.

Since 1995 Evan has released an eclectic array of intoxicating dance grooves which are not bound by any gimmicky trends and memorable songs that stand the test of time. Within the genre of House music, each unique release can run the gamut stylistically - ranging from to deep, tribal, peak hour and electronic influenced tracks to organic soul, funk, afro, latin, jazz and gospel drenched songs.

Throughout the years Evan's original productions and remixes have amassed an impressive 25 Top 10 positions on Traxsource’s Top 100 download charts, a Top 5 and Top 20 on Beatport, as well as the no. 1, 2 & 5 slots on the European based DJ Mag Hype Chart and a couple of Top 5 positions in Billboard’s Top 100 Dance chart. On rare cases, like what prompted me to write this, I stupidly followed back this twat, only to be deleted seconds later. All so they and their egotistical and narcissistic self can inflate their numbers to look 'big'.

Makes my fucking blood boil because, with them it is not truly about passion, talent or love of music, but FAKE ASS, selfishness and EGO.  It is shit like this that ruin these sites, and insult the true musicians and rare gems in the music industry.
