Description: No Use In Crying came from a recording session that was set up with a good friend Frank Fogden. Originally planning to record other demos I started to write this song before Frank turned up, Deciding it would be more of a vibe we chose to record No Use In Crying instead!

“The Valley song was the second song to come out of a writing session that I didn’t intend to happen. I had been doing session work with another band for about 4 months which creatively got me out of a block that I had been stuck in for a while. With no need to write music with other projects in mind I decided to sit down and write for me. Out of those writing sessions came a good base of songs I wanted to record, which led me to wondering how far I could take the songs without having to step foot in a recording studio. A knock on the door from an angry neighbour soon led to me discovering that i could pretty much record all of it apart percussion!”

“When I first wrote ‘The Valley Song’ in it’s initial form I specifically remember being at a point in my life where for once i was uncertain of where I was heading. As relationships differed and social circles moved on, I was frustrated by how easily I accepted change. I wondered what would become of the future and what it would lead to. Half hoping that everything would revert back to what I’m used to but ever excited about the future. I think The Valley Song encapsulates that feeling perfectly for me.”

No Use In Crying

Straightforward rock tune that gives you swirling guitar riffs on top of driving drums and bass. Vocal melody lilts over the music with lyrics that simply hit home, and you think, I Might Sing. The song comes together quite busy and erratic, definitely following suit with how it sounds.

A Robert Plant / Dave Gilmour / Lou Reed influenced Blues Rock demo version of a song originally written way back in 2015. Remixed for licensing or covers in June 2024.

Portsmouth based musician and poet Morgan Jennings has taken the leap from session musician to solo artist.Having spent the last three years doing live shows with various bands around the UK, Morgan has decided to take on another venture.

Fresh On The Net is a music blog hosted by Tom Robinson and Team Freshnet, offering independent artists an open door and a level playing field for their music.
