opening my travel bag
a book of hundreds notes
I left the wooden floor 
alone in my room 

opening the shutters
minor chords and cut of beats
went to all doors 
over the institutions floor

I lost my way 
in a dark spring fog
with goodbye tears
I took a seat

and we talked about
all fears and darkness
with a new map 
I started again

a drink with friends
a date at the river
a kiss at night
wishes and disappointments

on TV-screen 
and LED
I took the train
for a two hour ride

a cave to hide
when she said goodbye
the rhythm was still 
there in my heart

six people on a field
a horse in the woods
a dance in the dunes 
the luck to have you

applause and congrats
a film nobody sees
with the steering wheel
through weeks of bad sleep

I really don't know
if it was right or wrong 
 all can I say
it came from my heart
and now I'm here 
in front of the mic
a warm light 
falls through the window

I shouldn't fear 
the coming things 
the good or bad 
the bright or dark

Rails To Tomorrow

Inspired by M. John Harrison's Course of the Heart and the film A Dark Song.

First comes the rose and then the salt lines
I'll speak an angel's name; Raphael, Gabriel, Michael and Uriel
Asteraceae compositae, lay a bed of tree bark
A rose cross concealed, lay a leaf on a ram's horn

Next the carved rhymes which lead to a pause
From the darkness to the light
What was silent now is sound

Slowly light a ring of eight white candles
Hand clap to each point
Cinnamon on the floor, that sweet money spice
Relight the palo santo
Cast out with smoke
Cast out by command

Silence the conscious mind's derisive monologue of doubt
All the while keep breathing
What was hidden has been found

This track revisits an older piece that I posted  few years ago.  It is based on a midi recording of me trying to play the piano, but was heavily edited to cover up all the mistakes I tend to make.  I was never fully happy with the piece, even after the editing as the original sound quality, although full, perhaps had too much reverb that tended to lose some of the details.  

I have both edited the track at an individual note level as well as increasing the tempo in quite a few sections.  I have also experimented with a way of trying to give a greater spatial sense to the sound,  including the thought that the listener is also the player, or sitting right behind them.  

Any comments on the music itself or the sound production would be appreciated as always,  And as always, thank you for listening.

Another collaboration with @peteswinton. Pete are working on album together where we are reworking/remixing each others tracks.

This piece was recorded in AUM using one of Pete's original tracks (called Threnody For Jesse) and adapting it in AUM using the Spacecraft app and some some chorus effects and reverb.
