All of these tracks were composed, played and recorded in one take, straight to stereo. The only post-processing carried out on these tracks was the addition of a bit of compression and trimming of the starts and ends of the tracks.

Liveware Problem

A very repetitive, bang-on-four-beats drone and sequencer thing, improvised straight to 2-track.

This was basically a system try-out for some DIY synth modules that I've put together recently.

Integration Problems

One-take recording of a new noodle. Really happy with the sequenced bass part and the way the rhythms work with and against each other. All of the glitchy noises are from my DIY modular synth.

Opiates

A lazy two-chord live noodle with my newly-built DIY Solina string synth clone. Quite nice.

Drums are from a newly acquired Arturia DrumBrute, which I dont yet properly know how to drive

Developed this in less than a couple of hours in the studio, recorded as usual in one take, straight to stereo.

The title comes from a spoken line at a TEDx rehearsal; can't remember the context or even who said it, but I took a note of it at the time as a potential title. So, thanks, random TEDx speaker, whoever you are, this one's for you.

Androids' hearts are motorised pumps, unlike a human heart they run at a constant rate; as a result, androids have no pulse, no sound of rushing blood in their heads. The only murmur in an android's heart happens when it's dreaming it's dark, dark dreams. 

An ambient piece for sequencer, bass drone with LFO & drum machine.

Random voltages and bit-crushed noise overlaid with a frosting of order from the chaos. All good clean mental-healthy fun.
