It’s been more than a year since the rise of this pandemic and a few major changes in my life. In the last twelve months I decided twice to stop, quit my day job and focus on what makes me truly happy. Both times with a heavy heart and bitter-sweet aftertaste of doubts, fears and anxiety. 

Now I’m at the point where I truly believe that the struggle is worth it, as I learn a lot from it, even tho it isn’t easy. During nights when mood swings took over I had a couple of tracks that I could listen to for hours on repeat, which I would like to share with you.

“Passing Time” is a reflection of sleepless nights and a personal collection of songs between melancholy and optimism. A timeless fusion of Jazz, Rock and Electronica to zone out and keep hope alive.

Originally hailing from New York, Joseph spent his childhood tinkering with old radios and building computers, fascinated bu the near endless possibilities that they presented. Inspired by artists such as Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Monolake, and Luke Vibert, he picked up a copy of Ableton Live and a myriad of synthesizers and hasn't left his cave since. Now 4 years later Detox Unit has become a familiar and loved name in the Austin experimental music scene known for his intricately woven sets and unique productions.

Nehemiah 1:2-7

Hanani, one of my brothers, came from Judah with some other men, and I questioned them about the Jewish remnant that had survived the exile, and also about Jerusalem.

They said to me, “Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire.”

     On June 20, 2015 Max Scherzer faced Jose Tabata for the opportunity to secure the 27th out for the Nationals in the field. 26 up and 26 down – the game at Nationals Park was coming close in a historic moment. With a 2-2 count, Max was one pitch away from perfect. To date, there had only been 23 perfect games pitched in MLB history. All eyes were on the next pitch. As the ball was thrown, the curveball bent toward the plate from the right-handed Tabata… but not enough. The ball barely nicked Jose’s elbow guard, and the umpire motioned the batter to first base. Gasps could be heard throughout the crowd. So close! Actually, Scherzer was maybe an inch from perfection. In history, as people in the world have striven to do good, we have all still been tainted by sin – even if it is just a little, tiny bit; we all have a blemish of imperfection on our resumes… except for one man. During Jesus’s life, a man asked him how he could enter into eternal life, and his answer seemed to be good enough. He said he had kept all of the commands recited by Jesus – not murdering, not committing adultery, not stealing, not lying, always honoring his parents, and always loving his neighbor.
