Following  in  the  wake  of  "Leland"  (2012),  the  critically  acclaimed  full  length  debut  by  label  founder  Francis Harris,  Scissor  and  Thread  is  proud  to  announce  the  November  18th  vinyl  release  of  "You  Can  Always Leave,"  Harris'  first  material  under  his  own  name  since,  and  the  first  hint  of  his  anticipated  sophomore  LP , "Minutes  of  Sleep,"  due  February  2014.  The  new  single  portends  the  mood  of  the  ensuing  album,  a  further foray  into  Harris'  signature  blend  of  house,  modern  classical,  shoe-­gaze  and  noise  which  is  the  artists  most ambitious  and  accomplished  work  to  date.  As  the  sole  dance  floor  moment  on  the  LP,  "You  Can  Always Leave"  picks  up  where  Harris'  cult  hit  "Lostfound"  left  off,  with  vocals  once  again  from  Danish  vocalist  Gry Bagøien  and  the  heartbreakingly  august  trumpet  of  No  Regular  Play's  Greg  Paulus.  The  remarkable  Terre Thaemlitz  delivers  an  epic  12  minute  remix  on  the  flip  under  his  DJ  Sprinkles  guise  which  is  sure  to  make this  12inch  a  sought  after  piece  for  house  music's  analog  enthusiasts.

Jesse Bru joins forces with Max Ulis this April for the collaborative ‘Similar Nature’ EP, comprising five original cuts from the duo and pencilled for release on SlothBoogie Records. West Coast Canada producer and DJ Jesse Bru, as well as being a regular on SlothBoogie Records, has been releasing his twist on contemporary house via the likes of Happiness Therapy, Pulse Msc and Inhale Exhale amongst others in recent years. Here we see him team up with fellow Vancouver-based artist Max Ulis, who also operates as one half of the duo Sabota, Max has been involved in Vancouver’s Underground as a DJ, and promoter for his SLAB parties for over a decade and is now carving out his sound as a producer. ‘TBH’ focuses over to a modern electro feel with crunchy 808 drums, snaking arpeggio lines, resonant leads, and elongated subs. London Grammar - Strong [DIZTORT REMIX]

After a bit of a production hiatus, label bosses, Frank&Tony return to Scissor and Thread with their strongest productions to date with Odes. Representative of their passion for vinyl collecting, the ep is the most dancefloor friendly to date. Leading the charge on A1, Procession takes no time demonstrating the duos keen ability to craft undeniable dancefloor vibes, with a hypnotic percussive groove sure to turn heads. The title track Odes, epitomizes the F&T sound with an early morning nostalgia and a nod to Detroit. B1, This Time, sees a collaboration with label mate and overall luminary, Darand Land, combining the dancefloor drive of the duos sound with the intricate melodies synonymous with Land's inimitable sound. Closing off the ep, Surface Prelude, sees a raw, but deep warehouse atmosphere reminiscent of early 90s house, but with an indelible Frank&Tony touch.

Dublin’s P​ear ​​label return for their sixth release with the new Soma EP ​​from Donabate producer Bryan Mooney, also known as DJ Moonbeam, under his N​ew Members ​​alias. His latest offering contains three spaced out club cuts sure to complement the thickest of dancefloor fog layers.

Following two stand-out minimal cuts is the EP’s closing track, “Eclipse,” a ruff’n’rugged jungle number ripe with synthetic dreamscapes and percussive elements that nod to the wider hardcore continuum. It’s the perfect closer to one of Pear’s strongest releases, and a nice calling card for Mr. Mooney, surely one to watch based on the effortless beauty of the project as a whole. It’s easy to get lost in this one, and it’s especially hypnotic in the moments when the instrumental quiets to make room for the rings of garden chimes. Additionally, the song is shrouded in a blissful layer of white noise, creating an illusion of water flowing over it, which for me is deeply relaxing.Stay tuned for vinyl and digital release of New Member’s Soma EP this Friday, January 18th.
