Mr Brightside (Dan Larkin Remix)

Club Glow return with their second vinyl release, this time from the mighty Borai. Entitled ‘Need U’, the EP will be released this Friday 2nd April and is limited to 300 copies via Bandcamp and very selected physical record stores. The crew have slated it as ‘Borai at his very best. Over the course of four-tracks, Borai leads with euphoria on ‘Need U’ and ‘Step Off’ but as the record flips, we’re taking the faster, darker side to Borai’s productions with the aptly named ‘Shadow Law’ and the 160-tip ‘Yellow’, as premiered here. 

The release is a presentation of the next installment for the label and we’re excited to see where they take us next. 2020 was an excellent year for the crew who celebrated their own individual successes, landing on labels such as Lobster Theremin, Hooversound, Cheeky Sneakers, and more as well as Club Glow being nominated as Breakthrough Label in DJ Mag’s Best Of British awards.

@tim-reaper, Cameo Blush, System Olympia and Eliza Rose are among an impressive list of artists to remix tracks from @waywarduk’s debut LP ‘Waiting For The World ’.

The album was released earlier this year on Silver Bear Recordings and was an ode to pioneering genres that shaped the London duo's musical identity - jungle, drum 'n' bass, rave, breaks, garage, techno, and the many sub genres of house. 

‘Waiting For The World Remixed’ sees 10 cutting edge established and emerging artists that Wayward have admired in recent years reimagine the music, while retaining the influences that permeated the original record.

Wayward explains - “It was important for the remixes to reflect the broad spectrum of genres that influenced the album, and we're really pleased to have achieved this. From Tim Reaper’s jungle remix to Tour-Marbourg’s stripped down, dubby, balearic remix, and all the different styles in between, it’s given us the opportunity to shout about artists who are just starting their careers, as well as the more established ones that we really admire - all of which are pushing the
boundaries and taking electronic music to an exciting place.”

The EP was written throughout lockdown, with the title reflecting the strange sensations and feelings he experienced trying to make sense of the whole thing.

Sonically, he usually tries to create a contrast between harsher more visceral drums, with warmer pads so it fluctuates between euphoria and intensity on the dance floor.

Houseum Records is proud to present its first sub-label, Ellipse Records. This new project was born out of two common goals with Houseum Records: sharing music and putting forward promising artists. This sub-label highlights a new music library that oscillates between electro, breakbeat and ambient. The releases will combine exploration and texture through the symbiosis between artistic covers and sounds.

To mark the occasion of 300,000 subscribers on the Houseum YouTube channel, what could be a better way to celebrate than kicking off a new sub-label with the talented Tom Jarmey? The young Englishman, aka Ocean Stirs and one half of Mother Of Pearls continues to reveal his talent through various releases on Dansu Discs, R.A.N.D Musik, Shadow City Records and his beautiful debut album on Lobster Theremin.

Tom Jarmey resumes this ascent with his latest EP - 'Birds of Opul' - Consisting of four tracks spanning emotive ambient, psychedelic downtempo, breakbeat and techno.

The EP opener ‘Steelo’ introduces us to a lush, textured array of fluttering synths and pads. ‘Far East’ builds on this theme, incorporating otherworldly melodies with driving drum work and samples. The B side opens with ‘Blue’, a mellow dive into pulsating chords and stripped back percussion. Closing the EP is ‘Flying Into Haze’, a fitting journey through massive ambient synths and field recordings, ending in a final, angelic crescendo.
