Very little is known about London-based producer reCAPTCHA. He is that kind of artist that decided to construct his career away from the social media spotlight, turning the mission of finding out what he ate yesterday or where he bought his new sneakers into an impossible one. What we can tell about him is that he is a “bleepy bloop enthusiast”, according to his bio on SoundCloud, and that he is about to make his debut on Skiptrace, an interesting label hailing from “Madchester”, UK, devoted to finding grass-roots talents and give them a platform to promote their work either releasing their music, or hosting them on their radio shows or mix series, or booking them to play at their events.

Let’s go back to reCAPTCHA, shall we? His “Inconsistent Behaviour” is an ode to a forgotten era. It’s an EP that reflects his skill and vision as a producer by interplaying with melting 303s, breakbeats, and gnarly basslines, firmly putting his own stamp on the seminal genre of Detroit Electro. 

Premiered here, the title track owes its trippy aura to the dreamy synth pads and its stamina to the acid lines reCAPTCHA skilfully constructed to the theme. The restless and frantic synth layers help to deliver a positive and upbeat message that says, “Hey, you over there, forget your ephemeral stories for a second and focus on your real story, especially on this unique moment we are having right here, right now on the dance floor”. Boblebad, real name Ulf Moen Denneche, is a genuinely original creative and all-around production dynamo based in Oslo. He is equally adept at crafting immersive sonic textures as striking imagery and is a painter and visual artist as well as a producer. He debuted on this label last spring with 'Vill Falafel', and his powerfully individual music has also come on the likes of Eskimo, Full Pupp, Paper Recordings, and Aquavit Beat. Boblebad also plays the trombone for a cultured Afrobeat band and rousing, jazz-inspired big band. Kosmische-informed crescendos define opener 'Rund i Kantene' before singles 'Kald Fisk' and 'Syrebad' demonstrate Boblebad's iconoclastic yet fun-loving approach to beat-making. The superb 'Syrebad' is a propulsive big-room bomb, locked and loaded for high climactic impact with its lively mix of laser chimes, soft tapping drums and muscular subs from the depths. 'Laminat' offers brilliantly spooky boogie from outer-space whilst there are rugged EBM-referencing synths on 'Tusker' and 'Havdans' is a neck-snapping dark disco beat. Smokey, left-of-centre electronics feature on 'Bred Last' and closer 'Funky Snegle' is a wonky and elastic rhythm to send you off loose-limbed.

Number five of Funnuvojere’s catalogue comes directly from the depth of the Bari (Italy) province. It is written and produced by Francesco Strippoli aka Armonics and follows his first mini LP on Slow Motion Records, Nuovi Orizzonti.

Starlight Keeper smells of night time at the beach, fishing in the dark, under a sky of stars. The title track is a dancefloor pleaser reminiscent of early 90s Dream House that soars on a synthy melody, pierced with an acid line. Twenty-Two is an arpeggiated iteration of Italo Disco: hallucinogenic, suspensive, vibrating with melancholic strings. The drums of Living Waves support buoyant sonic layering while the Chicago inspired Portal projects the listener to that moment when night yields to the light again.

VA-Solidarity is a Weapon

These are strange times and it looks like the whole world is going crazy. At least that's how we feel when we open the newspaper and follow the daily news.
All of us noticed the news about Nazi networks in police and military, mostly called „Einzelfälle“ with fear and concern. Halle and Hanau shook us. To watch “Querdenker” and Nazis walking hand in hand while the protests for the victims of Hanau where declined made us want to throw up and listening to politicians talking about the threat from leftwing-radicals just made us wonder. Even the orange president talked about the Antifa-myth which is complete bullshit. So what does Antifa mean? A short term for Antifascist.
Since we are no longer involved in political activism, we thought we would at least make a small contribution and support activists in their struggle.

So we started asking our friends if they wanted to contribute a track. Everyone jumped right on the bandwagon, which made us super happy and in a few weeks we even had more tracks than initially planned.
So you can expect some weird ambient-spheres, stompy club hymns, dolphin-trance, classic piano-house and even some dub-grooves.

We hope you enjoy the music as much as we do.

So who is “Rote Hilfe E.V.” and why does the money made with this compilation goes to them? This organisation puts the main focus on the financial and legal support of left activists who face repression in Germany. Besides, the “Rote Hilfe E.V.” helps antifascists who are searching for political refuge in Germany. We think that's a good cause which we would like to support. So your money is well spent! ;)
