Next up on Fresh Take, we have Josh and George working under the alias Sonic Juncture. Hailing from Brighton and Banbury, the dynamic duo have pulled together an eclectic EP of house, electro, and italo.

The pair have springboarded from their last release with Chequered Wax at the tail end of last year, where they garnered support from industry heavyweight channels like Les Yeux Orange.

They've also drafted in label friend Tech Support to give Energy some more welly.

Dam Swindle’s Lars Dales welcomes PBR Streetgang to deliver the second release on his newly minted 10 Questions imprint, with the UK favourites revealing their slick three-track ‘Dayskipper’ EP. Launched earlier this year, 10 Questions welcomes a brand-new label to the world and a new home for quality productions across the electronic sphere. The brainchild of Dam Swindle’s Lars Dales and graphic designer Bas Koopmans, the Amsterdam-based imprint introduces a new concept drawing from each individual artist’s unique characteristics and traits, with the answers to the ten questions presented via visual form across the release’s artwork and sleeve – ensuring that both music and art co-exist in the same creative realm. Following on from an impressive first release, 10 Questions now ventures deeper into Italo territory as they welcome one of the scene’s longest-running duos, PBR Streetgang. Known for their big dancefloor tracks across both house and disco, this latest EP sees the pairing once again serve up a quality offering as they deliver the label’s sophomore release, ‘Dayskipper’. 

Title track ‘Dayskipper’ opens proceedings and sets the mood as 707 drum programming and rolling Italo basslines meet catchy synth hooks and choir stabs to drive the theme home. Combine those elements with the ominous, well- crafted chords which cut through the production like a knife through butter and you’re left with a slick and powerful lead track perfect for the dancefloor. Next, the duo draw from early house influences whilst fusing contemporary soundscapes on ‘Knockout’, weaving playful ‘Moog’ style basslines with infectious vocal hits and resonant piano hooks, plus a pinch of hip-house to deliver a slick effort and the perfect recipe for a good time. 

On the flip, third track ‘Chi-Lite’ takes full hold of the B- Side as they unveil a dreamy proto-house offering with syncopated stabs and DX7-style bells masterfully shifting from floating moments to driving, dancefloor energy within a matter of minutes.

Beatservice Records welcome back Third Attempt, with the fast-rising artist stepping up to remix his very own 'Sunbeam Symphony'.

The trip-hop themed original version appeared on Third Attempt's brilliant album 'The Novel Sound', with the sparkling club rework poised to introduce the music to all-new audiences.

Beyond any shadow of a doubt, Torje Fagertun Spilde – better known as Third Attempt – has been one of the most intriguing young artists to emerge in recent years. Showing a musical understanding that belies his young age, he breezily glides through genres with his carefully woven productions. His sound appears to evolve with every new release, as Beatservice Records continue to provide a nurturing platform from which he can freely develop his craft.

Here, he exhibits yet another string to his production bow, serving a gorgeously atmospheric and club remix of 'Sunbeam Symphony'. Though the hazy vibrations of the original echo through the new version in the form of the sun-drenched chords and floating motifs, the music is effortlessly reframed with dancefloors firmly in mind. Formed over a crisp house rhythm, the melodic refrains take on new life as psychedelic leads and subtle synth textures elegantly combine over sublime bass notes. The child's vocal resonates through the track, with Spilde displaying his finely-tuned knack for repurposing spoken word samples to evocative effect.

Blissful, dreamy, and with added kinetic weight, the club remix is sure to breathe new life into the already sublime 'Sunbeam Symphony'.

Having recently opened her account on Ubiquity Records with the brilliant, Bali-inspired single ‘Kete’, Rose Robinson returns as Tigerbalm with another snapshot of her forthcoming debut album, International Love Affair. As with its predecessor, ‘Waiheke’ gleefully blurs the boundaries between contemporary club music and the rising star’s love of rhythms and musical cultures from around the world.

All of the tracks on International Love Affair were specifically inspired by places Robinson has visited pre and post-pandemic. ‘Waiheke’ is no exception, with Robinson starting work on the track following an inspirational trip to the Flamingo Pier festival on Waiheke Island, New Zealand.

Once again, the track is rooted in the London-based producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist’s deep love of delay-laden 21st century disco, organic house and deep electronic club cuts. Pairing these influences with African-influenced percussion and sampled chants, Robinson delivers a sparkling fusion of Afro-cosmic and dubbed-out nu-disco rich in sparkling synth sounds and warm, weighty bass.

Appropriately, Robinson’s original Tigerbalm take on ‘Waiheke’ is backed with a wealth of inspired remixes tailored to tantalise and tease a variety of dancefloors. The headline-grabbing remix comes from fellow ‘world dance’ fusionists Alma Negra, whose organic sounding, loose-limbed rework adds dubbed-out synth, guitar and vocal snippets to rolling Afro-disco beats and a faithful rendition of Robinson’s brilliant bassline.

Semi-Delicious founder Demi Riquisimo, a rising star of the London deep and tech-house scenes, delivers a wonderfully spacey, tactile revision in his distinctive style, wrapping echoing sci-fi synths, intergalactic chords and chanted vocal snippets over a subtly acid-flecked house groove, while Quartz opts for a stripped-back, new wave-goes-dub-disco flex on a revision that sounds like a long-lost B-side from a sought-after early ‘80s post-punk single.

Dagfest [da:g fɛst] is the Swedish word for day party and that is what the duo have dedicated themselves to make - the perfect Dagfest.
With the perfect blend of emotional pop, pulsating bass lines, shiny disco and a 707 the duo transforms the musical journey to a place in the sun.
Members Patricio Cabezas and Mats Lundgren consists of equal parts producers and crate diggers. Inspired by a vast range of synths and a miscellaneous record collection their exposure to a broad musical diet are clearly heard in their dj-sets which smoothly moves  the dance floor through different styles. The result is rich and varied sets that always surprises. 
Together with the community Gläntan they also throw underground parties, intimate and with house party vibes.
Characterized by a wide range of genres Dagfest is not unambiguous or easy to define. But one thing is for sure, it’s sticky.
