Anders Hajem takes inspiration from classic house on his superb new release for Mellom.
Anders Hajem is a producer from Ål in Hallingdal, Norway with a background playing in local bands. He studied production in Oslo and was immersed in the city's nightlife while releasing as Clastique and DJ Username for his own BCR label. Now under his own name, he produced these tracks in his own studio and they find him widening his sound after his debut on Prins Thomas's Full Pupp last year. While he shows a different side, he retains his trademark sense of energy and masterfully deploys an MPC2000XL to get an authentic old-school vibe.
The opener 'Send It' has a big heart and big energy. The piano chords are party starting, the bass is fat and the groove will lift dancers off their feet. Synth lines bring plenty of colour, subtle acid textures and futuristic soul and help make this one such a characterful track.
Then comes 'Tape,' a warm and deep cut with soft, diffuse synths and a hazy atmosphere. The dusty drums and romantic chords make for a chilled vibe but with a heavy groove that also makes you dance.
It's house music for good times with close friends.
These tracks prove that whatever style Anders Hajem serves up, he always gets it just right for the dance floor.

The batteries are charged again! After an adequate summer break the Fortunea Records crew continues its mission to bring out extraordinary compositions with a brand-new EP by Moff & Tarkin.

The Icelander is currently living in Vienna and presents on this record his multi-variant taste in music. Poems of Soy starts with the cinematic opener ‚Sting’. Playful arpeggio synths dive headfirst into an hypnotic shuffle beat which is companied with siren-seeming vocals from the distance. The follow up ‚Love or Something‘ takes that groove and expands it with more pressure and a snappy baseline.

The B-side starts with an acid injected rave bomb called ‚Dating on LinkedIn‘. A track of sublime quality featuring 909 driven beats merged with acid bass lines. And with ‚Great Tan‘ M&T takes us back to the glory days of the big beat movement.

Poems of Soy will come out on the 30th September 2022 in its digital form and later also as limited vinyl record.

And as always this release has been mastered by Cheap-veteran Patrick Pulsinger.

olenoid is back with SLN019, this time the owner Erta Ale shares the sides with the welcomed Italian duo we.amps

Connection, vibrations and affinity, all aspects that liaise this release between the two producers.

Suck my Oblivious is the perfect example of meaning about having connection and keeping the own “style”.

Drummy ya is the essence on being eclectic and dance floor oriented at the same time. A stormy chord combined with a twisty acid melody that clash on the unexpected vocal break, going forth to the second part of the track where the stormy loop become accurate and rawly  arranged! Suck my is fast, break and 4/4 beat makes   the arrangement extremely sophisticated and, the electro baseline with the deep male vocal, dipped definitely the listener into its vortex being caught by the same. The B side by Erta follows by  an experimental breakbeat track “Oblivious” perfect for a sophisticated dance floor or a radio podcast. The last track “Odyssey” is one of the most intimate and hypnotic track by the record label owner. An atmospheric and even sentimental track that he made during his last South African tour.

PREMIERE: Erta Ale - Odyssey [Solenoid Records]

"Endless Sunday" results from the collaboration of Nomenklatür and vocalist OGDE, which follows their acclaimed EP "When the Winds Blows", released on Clivage Music in October 2022.
The track embarks us on a journey from Monday to the Endless Sunday, a story told by Ogde and paced by the beats and bass lines that the French duo Nomenklatür are known for.

The EP "Endless Sunday" also features the dark electro tune "Explain to Me", a track as enigmatic as the blend of EBM, techno and electro-pop that the 2005-established duo Nomenklatür are able to produced.

Remixes by Krasnodar-based artist Volta Cab, aka Rambal Cochet completes the 4-track EP, out on the 18th of November.

PREMIERE: Hard Drive Library - Donkey Damage

Hailing from South Shields in the North East, Dom Apes cut his teeth in the music game as ‘Apes’ over a decade ago in London, alongside co-founder Seb Wildblood through their record label, Church, releasing the likes of Happa, Viers, Laurence Guy, Folamour, and Chaos in the CBD.

The crew threw regular parties at Corsica Studios and hosted label showcases at Phonica Records, Sounds of The Universe, Outlook, Dimensions and Boiler Room.

After a lengthy hiatus, Dom is back with a six- track EP on Diffuse Reality, this time releasing as ‘Dom Apes’. The release leans to the darker side of the dancefloor, spanning Techno and Electro, with nods to UKG in ‘Been Tellin’ You’ and a touch of Breaks in title track ‘Inside of Rhythms’.

The majority of the EP was written in London during lockdown in Dom’s home studio with his trusty modular synth and go-to drum machine at the centre, referenced in the release with ‘DPO Jam’ borrowing its name from the Make Noise DPO module.

The opening and closing tracks were written when Dom relocated back to the North East in 2021, the pad in ‘Inside of Rhythms’ is taken from a £50 keyboard bought through Facebook Marketplace.

The EP received strong early support from Mall Grab, with Jordon giving the tracks frequent rotation in his Rinse FM shows and at gigs.

Dom hosts a monthly show titled ‘All Hopes Sank’ on Newcastle’s - Slack’s Radio, spinning old and new sounds for listeners, 60 minutes every month. ‘All Hopes Sank’ is a homage to his all time favourite band Joy Division, and describes the gap between this new EP and his last release in 2016, as imposter syndrome and anxiety had stopped Dom from doing his thing.

Inside of Rhythms is released by Barcelona-based Diffuse Reality Records, on 12th December 2022. The EP will be available digitally at all the usual spots, and on a super limited-run of cassette tapes.
