n - The French-Canadian label Chez.Kito.Kat Records publishes the new album “TAPE TWO” by Luxembourg producer D.E.T. After having already released in 2015 his first album inspired by 90’s Chicago house scene and which was distributed by the legendary English distributor Lobster Theremin and published in 2022 the opus “TAPE
1” who pays homage to the 90’s UK Jungle movement and who was featured in HATE, a very rare distinction for a jungle production.

TAPE TWO who is a psychedelic trip into 90’s electronic music scene, will be released on June 2nd, 2023 and will be available in limited audio cassette edition and digitally through our distributor UNDERSCOPE.

Having spent years in clubs and raves in Geneva, e-garbage is mainly defined as a solo project, oriented towards live performance and studio production with the purpose to realise the essence of a sonic journey and the emotions music evokes with the application of self-realised rawer technique. The Swiss Frankenstein of modular has brought together several of his passions by integrating them into his live setup. Various musical instruments built from recycled materials, repurposed to capture the entrails and pulsations of the machines and shaping them into unlimited sound frescoes. 

The close link he maintains between the creation of artisanal musical instruments and sound production allows him to craft each tailor-made sound. Captivating and yet disorienting in their strangeness, each of his songs are a marvel of oddity, but familiar genres are discernible beneath the mirage. Mesmerising approximations to aqueous Techno, enriched with various influences such as Noise and Black Metal. 
E-garbage’s influences have a definite correlation with his serpentine career path. Whether being a graduate in architecture, programmer, sound engineer at the legendary Motel Campo or releasing music and zines through his co-founded label Pulse. Though seemingly disparate, e-garbage’s projects collectively form an interdisciplinary web of ideas that seek to examine the nature of creative thought.

With LLM, e-garbage pokes and prods musical norms and artistic conventions, probing for the broken seams through which new and untested ideas might spill forth. At the crux of his creative endeavours, one can find familiarity within a collection of sounds from field recordings and from our daily lives, creating textures and flowing melodies whilst fusing sonic elements from both people and machines. Patch Notes: Performing a full track using the same processed break sample from our previous BREAK TRICKS post. Here the Squid is used with AXON-2 to bring in elements and control key parameter changes.

The SQUID SALMPLE is now back in stock and available from your preferred ALM stockist! 

Using only the SQUID SALMPLE as a sound source a track is built up starting with atmospheric sounds and a pitched pad sample. A split break sequenced via CV over its Cue Sets is brought in via the MUM M8 and repitched using the top offset of the AXON-2. It is periodically reversed and high passed throughout by twisting the bottom 2 offsets, with the Squid’s channels quickly cycled / unmuted using the A & B buttons. To alter the beat, the Cue Set sequencing is switched from external CV to ‘STEP’ to begin playing the break slices in their original order. The chord voice is faded in and out using the remaining AXON offset assigned to its level.

Combined with the AXON-2 the SQUID SALMPLE becomes an even more hands-on, performance oriented real time modular sampler.

Through a diverse roster of labels such as Moment Cinetique, Letters To Nina, Kolour Recordings just to name a few and a sound that manage to fuse house and broken beat and with soul, Tree Threes is becoming a a force to be reckoned with.
His debut EP for Omena is another fine example of his talent in brining influences from both house and broken beat with a healthy dose of soul. All four tracks on Find Love & Boogie are made by someone that clearly loves music.
