The Danish and Berlin based producer’s soundscapes are similar to a swirl of emotions and danceable rhythms which garnered dozens of millions of streams and enabled the artist to make successful european tours. ‘Alone’ is a creative lofi house track with a rich instrumental, where catchy drums meet dreamy synths and an enchanting pitched voice.

Adam Pits Releases Synthetic Serenity - A New Album Capturing the Sound of A Future WorldElectronic, Trance, Techno, Drum & Bass, Ambient

Adam Pits is back with his second album on Leeds based On Rotation ‘Synthetic Serenity’ represents the next evolutionary step of Adam’s sound design and direction. In stark contrast to his first album, ‘A Recurring Nature’, this new release moves out of the forest and into the digital landscape, capturing the sound of a future world over 8 varied tracks.

Adam Pits talks about the inspiration behind the new album:

“It’s hard to put into words how much of an impact 2022 had on my life. I could talk for hours about the highs and lows, the journeys, both inside and out of my body. Or I could just make an album.

Having delved into the deeper reaches of techno and ambient, I wanted to show my appreciation for these genres on the record. Atmosphere, clarity and warmth became the pillars of my new sonic exploration, with stress falling on my signature ‘journeying’ style. The album describes the idea of being at peace with machines and being open to the idea that in the future we will find ourselves more and more involved with one another.

‘Synthetic Serenity’ is a product of a big energy release. It’s a testament to my acceptance of change in life and I believe it’s a true sign of my sonic evolution”

PREMIERE: Adam Pits - Crunchy Universe [On Rotation]

Over the last few years, Manchester-based producer Fthmlss has rapidly built a name for himself, stitching together curious and characterful beats that have readily caught the attention of Spotify and Apple Music Editorial playlists and the heads in the alternative beats landscape. 

Since joining Asta Hiroki’s Folded Music imprint with his EP ‘Anxious’, he has quickly gained even more high-profile fans across radio and press, including BBC 6Music, FIP, France Inter, Radio Eins, XLR8R, CLASH, Magnetic Mag, and College Music.

Continuously expressing a clear desire to grow his sound further and explore more conceptual work, unlike many producers in similar beat-based spheres, he has readily taken in new sonic influences from a wide array of electronica, hip hop, and ambient styles of music, and isn’t afraid to explore them with enthusiasm.

His second full-length album ‘Cycles’ focuses on a central theme of the water cycle, the various forms taken by the liquid, and the impacts that this lifeblood of humanity and earth has. From still and meditative to powerful and hard-hitting the tracks cover various stages of the cycle and specific scenarios in which it plays a role.  

Fthmlss traverses more ground than ever before through 12 new works, yet despite its expansiveness the record remains a delightfully cohesive listen throughout and sculpted unmistakably in his own unique and musically rich style. 

From the opening notes of the ambient and new age inspired ‘Nimbus’, the heavy hitting deep bass hip hop of ‘Niagra’, and the bittersweet smokey neo-soul of guest vocalist Christie’s two contributions - Maelstrom and Estuary, the broad horizons are evident. As the record progresses, it covers even more miles - with touching and expansive Jazztronica on ‘Overflow’, crispy head-nodding oriental beats on ‘Effervescent’ and unpredictable downtempo glitch on the closing track ‘Orka’. 

It’s a fantastic long-form listen from start to finish, perfect for experiencing on vinyl LP. And indeed Folded Music have pressed a limited number of black 12” vinyl to satisfy the wax lovers out there who are keen to expand their beat collections with this gem. 


Speaking on the project in his own words: 

“‘Cycles’ follows the journey of water on its natural quest. As it falls from the sky onto the mountains and begins its journey into the ocean through various different paths, we immerse ourselves in its perspective. The album conceptualises the different forms and states that water takes on this journey, from high-energy waterfalls smashing through rocky cliffs to serene streams running through the meadows. This project is an ode to water and gives thanks to the life it provides on this peculiar planet.”

Hold tight! - As Sunlightsquare band leader Claudio Passavanti unleashes the 2nd single from his gigantic recording album venture - ‘Britannia Shing-A-Ling’. Recorded at Studio Miloco Studios, London, Claudio enlisted 25 musicians and vocalists (A BIG BAND!) to take part in this phenomenal live album project. Following their first single release, ‘Land OF 1000 Dances, taken from the album, Sunlightsquare roll out the Afro-Cuban vibes covering Cuban Latin jazz percussionist Mongo Santamaria’s 1976 smash ‘O Mi Shango’.  Featuring lead vocals from Rene Alvarez,  mixes on the package include an earthy, Cuban jazztastic original mix along with a selection of latin fuzed dancefloor grooves from NY’s Franke Estevez & George Mena (Fuzion), Brazilian resident Mustafa, UK house producer David Doyle and a Liberation mix from Sunlightsquare. Hola!!.. The Sunlightsquare Summertime party bus has arrived!!

After an amazing festival season, with DJ after DJ dropping Abel’s last output ‘Can’t Let You Go (Feat. Rona Ray)’, we’ve some exciting development to disclose. We’re elated to announce that two of our favourite remixers have joined the ‘Cosmic Law' lineup and will be remixing Abel’s ‘Jazz In The Room’.  

Although no introduction is needed, for the second time on the label, we’re more than stoked to welcome back the mighty ‘Jimpster’ on remix detail. ‘Jimpster’ does what only he can do, and he loads us with an outstanding arrangement and re-composition of Abel’s original. With layers almost impossible to unpeel, the groove is locked down tight. This rendition will undoubtedly become a mainstay for the true deep-house heads.  

To enhance this offering further, our very own ‘Peacey' steps up to the mixing desks. We’re incredibly proud of his almost untouchable quality of work, and this time ‘Peacey’ turns out a brilliant remix-dub which builds gently, yet demonstrates total direction throughout.

A trippy dub version was used on the b-side and I've combined both together with a new intro and outro for this edit.  Expressly made for my last set at the legendary Bobby Viteritti's monthly Classics Never Die party in NYC, I hope you'll dig this one by the Disco Dub Band.
