Broken is concept about the affects coming to this world can have on a soul. To such a degree the soul is altered from its original peaceful kind loving state to a disagreeable, hateful, spiteful and damaging one. This world has a way of breaking innocence. 

The might of this world causes the mind to not comprehend that maintaining a childlike heart is the best way to defeat evil. Many hearts are defeated or are broken by evil eventually!

De ses productions se dégage ainsi une incroyable cohésion, nourrie de structures toujours plus complexes et maîtrisées. Ce perfectionniste signe notamment sur le premier « Various Artists » de Copie Blanche, avec son morceau « Starfish ». 

Les 4 morceaux et l’interlude de cet EP "Starfish Island" sont le reflet de la personnalité de Louis Dauvergne : originale, un brin bordélique mais toujours dans l’idée de découvrir le jazz-fusion de demain. Les jeux sur les percus et l’esprit funky qui se dégagent de l’ensemble confère à cet EP le charme d’une House portée sur les origines de la black music.

En attendant la sortie prévue fin Mars 2018, Louis a quand même pensé à nous. Un paquet caché se trouve à proximité du jardin Damia Island à Paris dans le coffre d’une “Comet”. Promis ce n’est pas de la bière…

PREMIERE: Louis Dauvergne - Infernus [Copie Blanche]

Label boss @Nachtbraker is finally making his solo debut on Quartet Series after a successful EP last year on Heist Recordings. Widely known for exploring different sounds and angles with his productions, this record is the most club-orientated to date. Intricate ghetto house with a slight French touch to straight up 4x4 with a pinch of jacking flavour would be an accurate description of this release. The use of 90’s hip hop samples within this auditory concoction successfully highlights Nachtbraker’s excellent ear for detail and penchant for exciting, eclectic and downright weird changeovers.

The main hitter taking over the full A side is the title track “Small Towel People”. An uplifting bass line accompanied by heated 909 percussion and a hypnotic thriving arp to seal the deal. On the flipside, you’ll find “Kippendijen” on the B1. A heavyweight in the house category, some glimpses of early days jacking house and a little French touch on the filter. Throw in a breakdown even Houdini wouldn’t be able to handle and you’ll find yourself putting this track on repeat. Then when the needle hits the B2 groove, “Zomaar” kicks off with an energetic mpc style breakbeat before morphing into a deep jam of lush chords and a thrusting 4x4 beat. The track closes after switching back to the first part of the record and ends in a sublimely deep and dubby breakbeat.
Nachtbraker will be keeping you comfortably awake with this spicy record. Enjoy!

Watching Me is the second Funky Espresso production on Smooth Operators. This house track has a Mediterranean vibe, crafted for summer dancefloors. Produced in Berlin, mixed and mastered in New York, remixed in Buenos Aires, it captures the groove from around the globe.

The track was born when Funky Espresso was jamming in their studio with Argentinian singer Priscilla Omil, looking to create a track that embodied the feeling of long lasting dances by the beach on summer nights. Paul Griesbach on his legendary sax and Paul Rowley on his guitar joined in and gave “Watching Me” an additional Balearic flair. The track was sent to Brooklyn-based producer Federico Chiesa (OORA), who fell in love with the vibes and decided to mix and master it adding some dancefloor presence to the soulful track.

Upon receiving the track back in Berlin, Funky Espresso sent it out and started receiving amazing feedback. Bill Brewster, London-based legendary DJ, was taken by the track and suggested that they reach out to Buenos Aires-based producer, bass player of 2020 Soundsystem, Fernando Pulichino to work on a remix. After a quick exchange, Fernando had the great idea to take the track in a more raw and funkier direction.

Together with the broken beat remix from Berlin-based Andrew Ashdown (Bridge Guy) and the acapella version celebrating Priscilla’s beautiful vocals, this release is the total package for summer playlists.

Funky Espresso is Marco Esposito and Aziz Hashmi. Their first release “Born for the Night” came out on Smooth Operators (SMOOP-002) on November 17, 2017.

Having been around for almost a full calendar year, the sub-label PNP has already made quite the name for itself during the past several months. Managed by producer Fede Lng, this imprint is a spin-off of his already successful parent label Axe On Wax, which is responsible for exposing the world to such artists like Kirk The Flirt, Jesse Bru, Trudge, and Mall Grab.

Although Axe On Wax specializes in a more traditional sense of house music, PNP appears to be all about the disco - a way in which Fede and his friends can release edits of their favorite tunes of old. For DJs looking to spice up their sets with unadulterated funk, look no further than their upcoming record PNP 003, which features songs by Tom Jay, Braga Cicuit, Pacific Bureau, and Fede Lng himself.

The fifth track rounding out the bunch comes from little-known producer Hank Youngman (Hank YM) and is titled Nao Nao. Hailing from Melbourne, Hank seems to have a strong affinity for Marcos Valle's classic Nao Tem Nada Nao. In his edit of the original, Hank simplifies the tune - stripping out many of its lyrics while concentrating on the quintessential Brazilian ad-libs that are present throughout the piece. This manages to give the song a lot of room, allowing Hank to fit in his assortment of looped basslines, guitar riffs, and space-age synths that help transform it into an all-out groove. 

Set to come out sometime this fall, this edit already has us excited to get our hands on a copy of this forthcoming release!

Featured on Resident Advisor and supported by the likes of Jeremy Underground, Project Pablo, Folamour and many others. Kousto former DJ and producer at Hoxton FM delivers lush deep and dreamy house music with a sound evoking the sea and golden sands of the Côte d'Azur. His first EP encapsulates this style with musical waves and analog sounds mingling to create playful, summertime vibes. The legendary Simbad aka SMBD has collaborated on “The Old Days” and “Seagull Chant”. Peter Pearson, chillout jazz musician from south of France has collaborated on “La Med”.

Kousto writes “Little Foot Records” aims to work with producers who are expecting something new, we want to learn and share our projects with our friends and people who share the same passion. The joy of listening to a great song is the only criteria. Producers have to feel free to create and dream to share their music with the world.
