The Summer Soulstice 2022 Compilation offers a state-of-the-label overview, featuring cuts from familiar names on the label’s vast discography... as well as some inspired newcomers.

There are many highlights among these creations, including the lead track "Calibration" produced by New Delhi house ambassador Hamza Rahimtula — top notch deep house mixed with west coast flavors abound. olenoid is back with SLN019, this time the owner Erta Ale shares the sides with the welcomed Italian duo we.amps

Connection, vibrations and affinity, all aspects that liaise this release between the two producers.

Suck my Oblivious is the perfect example of meaning about having connection and keeping the own “style”.

Drummy ya is the essence on being eclectic and dance floor oriented at the same time. A stormy chord combined with a twisty acid melody that clash on the unexpected vocal break, going forth to the second part of the track where the stormy loop become accurate and rawly  arranged! Suck my is fast, break and 4/4 beat makes   the arrangement extremely sophisticated and, the electro baseline with the deep male vocal, dipped definitely the listener into its vortex being caught by the same. The B side by Erta follows by  an experimental breakbeat track “Oblivious” perfect for a sophisticated dance floor or a radio podcast. The last track “Odyssey” is one of the most intimate and hypnotic track by the record label owner. An atmospheric and even sentimental track that he made during his last South African tour.

With the release of his next EP, influential Parisian producer D’Julz establishes the launch of new label JV in collaboration with highly esteemed French distributor Yoyaku. 
Yoyaku, which also runs a leading record store in Paris as well as many record labels, has quickly established itself as a major force within the underground dance scene. With that, discerning tastemaker D’Julz is seizing an opportunity to join forces and establish a new sought-after outlet for his own productions and in due course, collaborations with other coveted artists. 
“With Bass Culture Records nearing its tenth anniversary, it’s absolutely the right time to artistically invest in a new project. The music coming from Yoyaku and sub-labels like Hostom, AKU and Yoyakuza, is consistently high-grade stuff. His two-tracker EP kicks off with ‘Chaplin Bong’, a euphonic groove-packed house cut that is sheer liquid perfection evolving with a combination of dubby techno stabs penetrating a rolling disco bassline. ’J’y Vais’, which translates to “I go”, is a deep and bass-heavy old school track that’s hewn from Chicago influences. A propulsive, sheen-polished dancefloor gripper. 
Looking forward, JV is set to evolve with D’Julz showcasing his own productions while bringing in masterful talents to collaborate, and with the music policy being very much open, it’s guaranteed to be a consummate source of electronic music.
