Frappé, the label to follow in 2021, supported by Laurent GARNIER who has recently said about them: “This label is on fire …. Looove the hard party vibe from the whole thing, and also love the cheekiness of some tracks. With tracks with huge samples from CHANGE, to tracks with obvious influence from “St Germain”…These guys know the score…”

The French label is already making a strong comeback with a fourth release: a pure House Music-infused Various Artists EP. Each of the 5 tracks explores a different aspect of what makes the House music sound of today, and yesterday, keeping intact the very Frenchy and dancefloor DNA of the label. Once more, Frappé is bringing together artists coming from different backgrounds, putting on a same record Lo-fi, Jazzy, Garage and French Touch influences.

Frappé is collaborating for the first time with a non-French artist and has picked a rising star of the electronic music scene in the person of northern-Irish producer Mark Blair. For the young prodigy, this is also his first release on vinyl, likely to make “French Kiff” a collectable item on Discogs soon! He is making his mark on this wax with “Tropicana”, a track as simple as it is efficient on which house chords are supporting a warm and sensual trumpet riff. All this is made in the lo-fi fashion which is his signature sound.

Naux, the rising artist from Lyon who first got attention with a release on the “Grand Cru Paris” Label along Bellaire in 2018, comes up with “Kristofer”: a made for festival tune. He rolls out a very 80s sounding piano sample, which goes up in the air as the hands of a cheering crowd would, by a beautiful summer afternoon. The young producer is also very sharp behind the decks.

The label is very pleased to welcome the Parisian duo Groove Boys Project, the very unique sound specialists, whose Studio “937” is a place many musicians are dreaming of (find out more about it in the Studio Porn documentary by Trax Mag). Their track on the EP “Groove Box”, is a pure product of the jazzy house sound “à la française” and also a nod to the Garage productions they master so well. A very sexy, groovy and classy act.

Basile de Suresnes, the label’s co-fonder, delivers “French Toast” a one of kind track, with a sample he has sculpted over and over again, in order to create a deep and dancefloor-orientated rhythmic. The various elements build-up to create an old-school sounding marvel.

Ten Fingerz, the other half of Frappé, concludes the record with “Ze Party”, a groovy flashback to the productions
of the French Touch years, with loops of filtered guitars layed down over analogic synth chords. A track taking its inspiration from the Roulé and Crydamour productions of the late 90s.

The gently kinky and off-the-wall cover’s artwork perfectly embodies the record and label’s identity and is once again beautifully painted by Ivan Peev.

A native of Galway, KETTAMA has spent the past couple of years rising through the tricky ranks of the Irish electronic music scene with his multiple residencies on the West and East coasts. However, his biggest claim to fame so far has been the online presence he has built across a range of different music communities online. What has happened since has been nothing short of breathtaking; his blend of hefty kicks with catchy riffs and stabs has given the house world a new ‘one to watch’ and he has certainly given everyone a good show to look at thus far.

Last year being his best year to date with his release of Bucklyn Bridge on Brookyln's HOMAGE, KETTAMA has no intention of slowing down in 2019. Joining the likes of powerhouses such as Demuja, Adryiano, Loods, and Harrison BDP, KETTAMA has recently decided to collaborate with UK label Shall Not Fade to come out with a new record titled Eastside Avenue.

Today, we are sharing one of the originals from the 4 track EP and it's called "Falling Down." Featuring generous applications of floor shattering bass and old-school Acid house synth work, the Irish lad is able to put together a high-energy chune that has "peak time" written all over it. We do not always post bangers of this variety on Bolting Bits, but when we do, they are usually top notch...and this certainly lives up to the standard.

Eastside Avenue is set for release on April 12th. You can bet that it's sure to fly off the shelves.
