Mike and Danny Parton recently launched this label with a superb first EP that laid out a fantastic sonic vision. It is where they will showcase their love of artful sampling and passion for crafting celebratory sounds. They have been doing so for years while drawing on '90s house, French touch, disco and funk across a series of classy outings on plenty of top European labels, and this is another fresh modern take on all that history. 

Danny gets things underway with 'Orange Juice', a thumping and peak time house slammer that washes over you as a potent wall of sound made from swirling vocals, sharp percussive details and textured chords that demand hand go skyward. 'Hotspot' has more funk in its lines, with loopy drums and horn stabs blasting out over a freewheeling bass loop. Smart filters keep things dynamic, and more impassioned vocal cries and stabs mean the track brims with energy. 

Mike then steps up with an equally brilliant brace, starting with 'Don't Look My Name', which taps into '90s US vibes and the steamy, loopy intensity of legends like Armin Van Helden. The drums are bold, the synths are loud in the mix, and the vocal samples bring just enough human heat to set things off. Last but not least, 'Free As A Bird' is an emotional banger with heart-tugging vocal hooks and punchy house funk finished in style with bass twangs and big strings. Glorious stuff.

Swirl People revisit their roots with a nostalgic four track EP from their early days as Fortune Cookie. This collection - which is their third release on L.I.T.S. - features carefully selected tracks from their original 1996 releases on Marguerite, a small label run by a friend. Nearly three decades later, these still much sought-after tracks are finally being reissued. The EP opens with 'Glitter Girls,' which is characterised by a catchy bassline, followed by the deep groove of 'Um Bongo.' On the B-side, 'Galactic Snackbar' offers a retro-futuristic feel, while 'Frisko Heaven' wraps up the EP with classic disco-filtered house energy. Timeless tackle, for sure.

The prolific Argentinian community Logia Records delivers its final gems to top its busy season off by bringing to life “Various Artists Vol. IV”: a colourful selection of twelve original cuts made with love by a skilled roster of promising young talents hailing from different geographical and musical backgrounds, whose no-holds-barred approach of electronic music delivered an interesting hotchpotch of soundscapes. On board, label veterans such as Gonzalo Blaya, Martin Martin, and Missing Name, receiving the company of the first-timers Volon, Alejandro Ariza, Jehudi Terrones, Bolita, Chris Corvin, Agustin Paldaof, Tovi, Angelkeb, and Tatook.

Premiered here, Bolita’s contribution comes embedded in the always delicious darkness-meets-groovy combo. Mischievous percussive elements paired with spot-on synth stabs and seasoned with frolicsome laser-ish FXs set the scene. Sober speech-like vocal hooks bring a certain calmness amid the chaotic leads and distortions. Plus: The bouncing and hip-shaker Tribal gait cannot go unmentioned.
