Confusion’s Vakuum EP lands as the initial release of a new imprint with the same name founded by the artist himself. The first release marks a six-track exploration in stripped-down, minimalist sound design. Raw machine energy and hypnotic repetition drive the record, each cut crafted with precision and clarity. The result is a deep, timeless release that embodies the essence of modular production: focused, uncompromising, and endlessly absorbing. A true statement of intent for both the label and the artist.

The A1 title track sets the deep foundation with a tense ambient soundscape trip, before “Bleep Blues” continues with a sci-fi as well as drum heavy workout on the A2. Rounding off the A-side, “Protovision” explores unknown textured realms and highlighted stabs in key moments.

On the B-side, “Fog” drives a journey between the dark and the light, with a rhythmic but moving low-end and an effective gritty lead, while the B2 continues with a stretched light pad fighting with a repetitive bleep. “DT229” closes the record, diving into broken rhythms and more melodic spheres.

The 284th Local Selection comes from Drogheda-based rising selector Emore, who guides us through a slinky set of warping progressive house cuts, an hour-long trip into alien territories and hypnotic rhythms.

Emore has quickly become a standout name in Ireland’s club circuit. The Drogheda-based DJ and promoter has earned a reputation for her expansive approach to selection, most at home within the twisted spectrum of house and techno.

Beyond DJing, Emore is deeply embedded in the community side of club culture. She’s been instrumental in reviving Drogheda’s once-prominent nightlife scene, helping to shape some of the town’s most formative collectives and parties, including Mood, Drogheda Groove Movement, and her latest project, Bubblegum.

This mix feels like a culmination of her influences, a sound that could easily have emerged from the eastern edges of Europe’s underground house scene. It’s chugging, sci-fi-tinged, and priggish in all the right ways: weird yet controlled, experimental yet irresistibly danceable. That balance, where forward-facing music still translates to the floor, is difficult to strike, but Emore nails it. The energy builds and mutates, never tipping over, maintaining a tension that makes you wish it went on for another three hours.

It’s the kind of mix that keeps you tucked into the back-left corner of the dancefloor, drink in hand, locked in those infectious, bleeped-out rhythms.

With a full year behind us since our last release on Delayed’s own Never Late, we’re proud to welcome French artist Gëinst to the platform with his ‘Hiber Trace’ EP. We first discovered the music of Gëinst through mutual friends & upon that initial discovery, were immediately intrigued by his musical ecosystem. A prolific yet incredibly humble artist, he has had releases on labels such as Lowless with a superb split EP earlier this year with Simone Bauer, his Into The Valley EP on Souleiman & Foreign Material’s label Norite, a string of releases with Sub Accent’s label Accents, appearances on Emmanuel’s ARTS & a few recent compilation inclusions on Lithuanian platform Area 127 & Ina Kacz’s Aneelhi Rec. His sound has grown & evolved significantly over the years, as he remains in constant motion, continuously refining his process in the studio. 

We were lucky enough to meet Gëinst in person for the first time earlier this year, at our favorite Mostra Festival back in April. We shared some special times together in the cavernous Vall d’Hebron Olympic Pavilion, a place we’re so eager to return to again next year, in only a few months. It’s a pleasure to welcome Gëinst into our growing family, a fairly new but already dear friend of ours because of those powerful dancefloor experiences. It brings my mind back to that spark that led to the creation of Never Late, an inspired moment on a Brooklyn dancefloor a few years back. 

The ‘Hiber Trace’ EP, for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, feels perfectly paired with the crisp winter mornings we have ahead of us - cold & sharp, beautiful & pristine, fierce & unforgiving, like shards of ice moving through a body of water. The title track grabs your attention right away, every sound thoughtfully distorted & processed subtly with effects, a steady rhythm you find your head moving back & forth to no matter how many times you listen to it. The tension builds ever so slowly & then that beautiful, enticing snare appears & stays with you for the entire journey. As soon as those melodic sequences come in, you’re hooked & the track cruises at altitude for just over 9 minutes. 

For our 4th release on Never Late, Gëinst presents his 6-track ‘Hiber Trace’ EP, released digitally on December 5th.

PREMIERE: Gëinst - Hiber Trace [Never Late]

Extempore was carefully crafted by Canada's very own Minor Sine Project, a duo consisting of A G E and Sandau. Although A G E is based in Calgary and Sandau is now based in Montreal, the two continue to produce tracks together. They previously contributed the track "Cosmic Rumble" to our debut release, Reflexions, and have now returned to the label with their own EP featuring three originals and a remix from Echo Locations regular xyiz.

𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗘𝗥𝗘 - MERSEL is back for Complementary System, a contribution to the new VA of Cosmic Wave Records. It is cosmic indeed with spacey textures and intricate drums, transporting the listener into atmospheric territories while keeping the low-end strong and the groove real. There is an eery undertone to the drone-like textures traveling through the record and some of you will love it.

After collaborating with Answer Code Request on Delsin early 2024, Amotik now strengthens the relationship with a first solo EP for the Amsterdam based label. Delsin is known for working the sweet spot in between emotive electronica and dancefloor functionality, and it feels like the perfect place for Amotik’s new EP ‘Raat’. The Berlin based producer has been pushing his highly effective techno tools via his own imprints for over a decade and doesn't make an appearance on external labels often. So for this special occasion he adds new layers of deepness and emotion to his palette. An effortless combo of punchy techno grooves and soothing pads together form a well rounded pack of dancefloor euphoria.
