From the UK, South Africa, France and Australia, Inner Shift Music presents their Collective Continents II release, with Mark Hand, Platform 001, G-Prod and Leo Gunn. The Ep starts with Take Some Chances which has Jazz influenced pads, chords and changes with an addictive hook, by Mark Hand who has recent releases on Soul Print and Apollo. Next comes The Last Letter by newcomer Platform 001 - a deep house track with some funk style house chords and an inspiring spoken word poem, which holds the listener's attention throughout.

On the B side we have the Gaugain brothers G-Prod (who have releases on R&S and Nightflight), with their track Horizon which has a more techy feel with its moody pads, melodic lead and subtle but driving bassline.AAThe EP is complete with a whole other level of head-nodding deepness and warmth, with Aheeoo which you would come to expect from Leo Gunn, who is noted for his multiple appearances on Deep Explorer. 

Deep, jazzy, techy, warm and diverse, this EP is everything there is to love about deep house.

UK artist Jayson Wynters debuts on Pulp with four tracks of atmospheric house and funk that come complete with remixes by Jarren and Mogwaa.

Kung fu master Wynters hails from Birmingham and has been a key player on his local scene for years. More recently he has broken out with impressive EPs on mighty Dutch label Delsin and Adam Shelton's EON. He has a real love of hazy house and always brings his own unique take on that to his timeless analogue grooves. This latest EP was written during lockdown, which provided Jayson a chance to explore different sounds and delve into different styles.

Opener 'Solitude' proves that with its misty-eyed melodies and dreamy pads. The drums tumble loosely, the percussion has a frayed edge and the whole thing is coated in warmth and soul. Half Moon’s Jarren is based in LA and brings plenty of that city's musical charm to his remix. It has far-sighted chords, soft-focus harmonics and well swung claps and drums that are simply irresistible.

Wynters then offers 'Corns Funk,' which pairs another dusty drum line with pinging kicks and woodpecker-like percussive hits. A superb twanging bass riff brings some real funk and retro-future feels as the groove builds and bright synths shine through the haze to enrich your soul.

'Night Drive' is a lush downbeat tune for sunset cruises. It has heart-melting chords that prompt deep inward reflection and features an aching guitar riff full of melancholy. The remixer for the one is Seoul musician and master beatmaker Mogwaa who layers in squelchy synth bass and dreamy, loved-up pads. Last of all, 'Uncle's Jam' is Dam Funk-style electro bliss doused in lo-fi chords and languid late-night funk and packed with romance.

This new release from HELP presents music from various HELP-related artists. Another release from the Århus-imprint that doesn’t directly state “club-proof”, but still, this one wouldn’t mind having a spin or two by your local dance-pusher. The opening track is by Central; a fresh house tune with both melodies and good-vibes - maybe the closest this young man has come to making an anthem. Next up is the 4 piece group Maizena with a ambiguous rhythmical ambient-house jam from the area of Denmark where it rains the least. On the B-side you’ll find a raw and to the point recording of DJ Sports and C.K joining PH1 in his throwback techno-studio in the suburbs of Århus. Next up is the long awaited debut from Manmade Deejay, who has been cooking a floating rhythm jam for this 5 course meal of modern danish cuisine. Last but not least Amsterdam-based KAAP joined Central on a fine day at Rubber Studios to create this dreamy and galloping ride.  All in all this genuine piece of wax if filled with local devotion and love from the HELP-crew. Third Space was inspired by a digital painting of a house by Marilyne Blais. A printout of the untitled work was pinned to the wall in Casa de Haiku studio, becoming an unexpected influence on the record. The duo realized early on they had started to imagine the soundscape inside the dream-like dwelling. The depth of field is fuzzy, angles are confused, and the structural integrity is unclear. On Third Space, People Plus wander freely between real and psychedelic territories, dipping into trip-hop, downtempo, and jazz. They find their sonic context in a hybrid space - neither the bedroom nor the dance floor.

Third Space is the second release from People Plus, a collaboration between Joli B and Mood Hut’s CZW.

We are delighted to present our special host for 083; Visions Inc. label co-founder, DJ/Producer, and vibes aficionado Alex Attias. He's got a special ear for Jazz, House, Funk, and more; with a career spanning back to the late 80s controlling dancefloors. It was during these years and the early 90s that he DJ'd regularly in Lausanne, Switzerland; eventually establishing himself as one Switzerland's most respected DJs with his own exclusive weekly night, The Jackals. From there much success continued in Alex's legacy with several singles, remixes, collaborations, label appearances with a dynamic range of genres and artists. He's worked with artists from Sun Ra and Ennio Morricone to Laurent Garnier, Roni Size, and Madlib, and that's just a small few; so

It was only natural that he have an exclusive label, and in 1999, he and his brother Stephane Attias established the record label Visions Inc., jointly in London, UK and Switzerland. Aptly named, Visions Inc provides a platform where Deep House, Jazz, Breakbeat, Soul- the Organic and the Electronic  exist as one Deep Family.

The label made a deep vision promptly with its first release, the excellent Future Jazz EP, produced by Alex under his Mustang alias. Visions Inc continued to establish its name and vision in the 2000s as a successful label - From 1999 to 2007, Visions Inc released music from Alex(Freedom Soundz) and his brother Stephane Attias, Plutonia (with Dego), Nanami Togarishi, Domu, and Neroli Records founder Volcov among others. Expansion also naturally occurred during this time leading to the creation of sub labels and party nights Freedom Soundz and LillyGood Party! respectively. For a few years dedication was placed to both these labels and party nights as Visions Inc didn't release directly during this period. 2017 saw the transition of Lillygood Party! from not only a party night, but sublabel of Visions Inc., dedicated to reissuing fully licensed edits Stephane & Alex made in rare Jazz, Disco, House and any other groovy stuff, several of which they played at the famous and ongoing Lillygood party events. In addition, Visions Inc returned strong with releases from some of the best in Deep House including: Alex Attias himself, Anthony Nicholson, Trinidadian Deep,  Lars Bartkhun, Javonntte, Patrice Scott, Hanna, and Kai Alce just to give an idea of the vast quality this label has curated recently, as Visions Inc, continues keep the standard high for over 20 years strong. Alex Attias's taste and demand is still as high as ever, as when it comes to moving the crowd with both vintage and new, he is always clever. He is currently working on collaborative projects with BBE to unearth even more Deep Soul history with the volume 2 of his compilation ...you can expect a taste of this, Deep House, Jazz, and more Deep Vibes so tune into Vol.83 and let Alex Attias take your mind and soul on a ride.
