Thomaas Banks invites Filmmaker, Ole Mic Odd, Timothy Clerkin, Snakes Of Russia, Nundale and TL3SS to remix his new E.P. entitled 'The Dark'.

Thomaas Banks launched the Sinahti label towards the end of 2019 before returning to drop his 'The Dark' E.P. in February 2021 which garnered support from Bloody Mary, The Hacker, Alienata, Curses and more. The U.K. born, LA-based artist who is also one-half of the Psychemagik outfit has been sculpting an off-the-wall sound over the last few years which touches on the darker side of techno, industrial and EBD-tinged sonics. Thomaas now invites an array of talent to remix his latest E.P. adding raw and haunting elements to the already explosive originals.

Medellín-based artist, Filmmaker who has releases on Opal Tapes and Phormix Tapes begins with a resounding remix of 'And The Machines Began To Breathe' as crunchy modulations, eerie fx and syncopated rhythms set the tone for this exciting E.P. Up next, The New U.S. Government label founder, Ole Mic Odd's version of 'And The Machines Began To Breathe' reveals chuggy drums, swirling 303s and otherworldly pads before Insult To Injury boss, Timothy Clerkin adds sparkling synths, rough-edged drums and uplifting leads.

L.A. producer Snakes Of Russia deploys his trademark 'death beats' in his remix of K900 as the haunting oscillations resound fiercely above the striking bass growls and ghostly echoes. Errogrid label founder Nundale follows with a cold version featuring howling machine tones, industrial soundscapes and paranoid fx before Florida-based artist rounds off the E.P. with a heavy dose of power electronics, shattering low frequencies and piercing synths.

It's been a little over two years since the Spanish-Argentine label signed the first album of Periphylla Series, a sub-label they created to release genres other than what they usually release on Diffuse Reality. However, although their musical orientation has nothing to do with the explosiveness and brassy character of the first stage of the paternal project, we have seen how in recent years Diffuse Reality has expanded its sound towards experimental and ethereal horizons, which is why, nowadays, the difference between both labels is not so huge.

Periphylla releases its first vinyl reference with an album by the duo I Tpame I Tvrame, formed by Franc Kurti, from Albania, and Dina Hajrullahu, from Kosovo. The duo's style is a mixture of darkwave, industrial and other post-punk genres, and they have a sound of their own, led by Dina's mystical voice and the wide range of sound they possess.

Social Noise is the Moscow musician combines dark and tantric rhythms close to neotrance, with touches of EBM and Electro using analog gear. 

Listing to his musical inspiration Skinny Puppy, Autechre, Cris and Cosey, Throbbing Gristle, Burzum, Darkthrone, Kino, Nochnoy Prospect he played in different metal and coldwave bands. Once decided to play electronic music, he organized many underground parties, and has played in different clubs of Moscow - Mutabor, RNDM, ДИЧ, Dissident etc. Recently his Music gained the attention of Nikita Zabelin’s label «Resonance Moscow» and he participated their showcase «Коррозия» on Moscow Music Week in RNDM club and presented mix of music on the radio show «Resonance» at 92.4 FM. His tracks was played by a lot of DJs, in a Different platforms in particular at HOR Berlin.

In the centre of the massive return of the electronic music scene to proper events, after almost two years of forced shutdown, the new work by David Meiser on the Valencian label HC Records sees the light.

“Who Wants The Night reflects the held back rage of an audience that has been forced to dance in his living room for too long. It is a hymn to make the night ours again”.

The sound of the EP has clear influences from EBM bands, such as Nitzer EBB or Front 242, but it also adds elements of the new punk movement that we had previously seen in bands like The Prodigy. All under the characteristic Meiser sound based on interlaced arpeggios, sharp cymbals and a careful editing of the voices that the artist sings himself. The EP has an original track and 3 remixes by HC Records producers (Siarem, Filmmaker, Abiz Sonko) who make a good balance by taking the original track, more oriented to the club dancefloor, to other more purist and experimental sound dynamics, respectively.

The video clip, which was recorded in the old Aliaga thermal power plant, reflects on the influences of industrial music and EBM both on the album and throughout Meiser's career. It has been directed by Carlos Amorés (APV Films) and has the support of Marga VM.

“I had already worked with Amorés on other occasions. We understand each other very well when it comes to moving even the smallest detail from the sound to the black and white image. He is my right hand. Marga has brought the rave aesthetic that we wanted to convey. The message was clear: ‘dance as if no one was looking at you, the night is yours again’”.

SOJ always works within an industrial sound context, but his works can be based only on small details that finally lead us back to this countercultural environment, elements of this genre, which later feed on other external nuances.

Infidel Bodies is the record label that publishes this new reference from the head of Soil Records. Its 10 original tracks combine different rhythmic structures with harmonic textures, each of them has a different charisma than the rest, with influences from styles such as dark ambient, techno or experimental electronics, and with quite different composition patterns.
