Cocoon Recordings keeps on celebrating the arrival of the new year and with our second release in 2014 we present RAR's first 12" for Cocoon Recordings. "RAR" is the current project joint of RAMPA and RE.YOU who made large waves last year with releases like"Everything" by RAMPA on "Keinemusik“ - one of 2013s top tunes!
 
2013 saw also RARs first work for Cocoon Recordings with their "Cocoon Compilation L" contribution "Yeah Yeah Yeah" (feat.: Meggy) which turned into a heavy clubhit, too. 
 
Since then the two joined the Cocoon ArtistBooking department and their first tour is about to start in a couple of days. Their new Cocoon Recordings release is a cool teaser for what to expect life-on-stage from RAR and features three berlin-morning-flavoured minimal house tunes. Imagine yourself sunday morning at 7am in the Panoramabar and Ricardo Villalobos drops "Do We" by RAR. If you ever eyewitnessed one of these nights and wish to get back there here's your soundtrack to do so.

New York DJ, producer and Maya Records founder Joeski returns to Crosstown Rebels in December. Jah Unite pays tribute to Joeski's long-running appreciation for Reggae dub with two tracks of stripped-back house with a roots twist.

Joeski explains why Jah Unite is a personal release. "Reggae dub has been a big influence on my sound. From my early days listening on the radio to the studio and laying down drums, it inspires a lot of the dub house and techno I create." The title track opens with minimal drums and a saxophone-led melody. Joeski stitches reggae vocals across the breakdown, evoking a gorgeous, sun-kissed soundscape. On In This Life, the producer layers snappy percussion with distant drum rolls and laidback keys while Reggae vocals wind through the atmosphere. An irresistible groove.

Brooklyn-born Joeski began his DJing journey in 1989, honing his craft throughout the 90s in some of the finest New York-based clubs like Limelight, Tunnel and The Roxy. Today, Joeski is an established producer, selector and boss of the long-running label Maya. He's released classic to contemporary sounds on labels like NRK, Ministry of Sound, Defected, Bedrock, Nervous, Cajual and KMS, further adding to his credibility as a critical talent in the house and techno realms. As a DJ, Joeski has performed across the Americas and Canada, building a loyal fanbase. Although he's been on the scene for over three decades, Joeski doesn't rest on his laurels. He constantly evolves his approach while staying grounded in the process. In other words, he's a real one.

The first release on ebb + flow records features three original mixes by our very own Sam Jaspersohn. This EP is a snapshot of Sam’s headspace when he and his wife made the leap to LA from NY after 12 years - they were strangers in a new city, where everything was unfamiliar and, at the same time, possible. All three tracks demonstrate the elegance of Sam’s ear and his innate ability to evoke deep emotion within.
The first track, Tropica, is driving and heady - set with the determination of embracing the new and channeling it into productivity. The second track, Lullaby For K, is a hypnotic and brooding piece that Sam wrote for his wife - a nostalgic and romantic homage to their first moments settling into life in LA.
The third track, Darklights, has a mesmerizing and soothing sensibility - at once, allaying apprehension and uncertainty. Let the Indigo EP transport you to a brand new place.

For this 12” we could allure some top notch producers. Like Web Web’s œvre itself, the variety of remixes on this 12” as well is stunningly diversified.
We’ve got an uplifting disco house groover by living legend Mousse T., which already got massive support by Louie Vega on his Worldwide radio show. A tribal afro house re-work by NY residents Hector Romero & Ayala; some avant-garde broken beats plus a mellow slow motion version of “Land Of The Arum Flowers” by Italian freestyle, trap, jazzy beats rising star Khalab; an epic downbeat monster by Vienna beat smith URBS, and last but not least a smooth dubby remix by Munich’s beat wunderkind L One. A secret weapon 12” representing a beautiful wide musical spectrum. Web Web are Roberto Di Gioia (piano, synth, percussion), Tony Lakatos (tenor and soprano saxophones, flute), Christian von Kaphengst (upright bass) and Peter Gall (drums).
