British producer Andy Ash is on a roll! His recent release for Quintessentials slaps hard and not to mention output on such respected labels as Sheffield’s Moment Cinetique, Chicago’s Still Love 4 Music, New York’s On The Prowl and Sydney’s People Must Jam. Andy Ash tracks always have this wonky edge to them which make his music stand out in the crowd and we’re pleased to welcome him back for his third release on Delusions entitled the Tiawo EP.

Kicking off this four track EP, the title track goes deep into early Chicago house territory calling to mind those incredible drum machine and synth workouts on Trax. Stripped back to just the driving 707 groove and chiming digital synths this punchy warehouse jam is just the track for those heady hours where the dance floor becomes suspended in time and the dancers are locked into the unfaltering groove.

Next up Strictly Pins goes for a minimal approach with shuffling drums, moody Detroit Rhodes chords, bass and..... that’s about it. But it grooves hard!

Burger treads a similar rhythmic and sonic path but with added trippy factor coming from a completely twisted vocal sample which is warped, cut up and processed for maximum freak-effect. Just a little insight into the mind of a madman which is both quite fun and disturbing in equal measures.

Closing out the EP we have Brother which goes for a slightly more conventional deep house sound with syncopated stabs, rolling bassline and swinging drums.

 This is SNGVA003, the third compilation from Sengiley Recordings, featuring fresh breakbeat and drums cuts, produced by new and established artists from around world. 

Dylan Dylan gets things started with a slice of deep, UKG style beats, Marc Brauner & Jimbo Mack collaborate and make a continuation of the UKg vibe with a German flavour, followed by Foreach with a serious dose of uplifting breakbeat business. Togethrs produces some sublime drum & bass sounds, and Minor Sine Project brings us vibey, acid breaks. Jordan Raymond supplies some atmospheric, laid back rhythms, followed by Nørus & DJ WHIPR SNIPR who drop a powerful chunk of bassline orientated material. Withheld brings the heat with an extended, melodic breakbeat excursion and lastly, Florian winds things down with a deep and blissful track that serves up luscious pads and ingenious rhythms. Exclusive Dj Steaw -  I Can't Feel It

Forward-thinking scene mainstay, Rutilance label head, producer, DJ but foremost artist Dj Steaw makes his debut on Kerri Chandler's Kaoz Theory. Delivering four original tracks, each one slightly different in its processing of sounds and used elements, the Paris-based artist comes up with an EP that truly deserves the attribute classy and is surely to be ascribed to the House genre with slight deep notes. The tracks, entitled as Colour of Mind, depict Steaw's preference for a rather raw approach to music, consequently his music is designed for emotional dance floor peaks as it directly pleases the dancers' body, mind and soul. No exception is Dj Steaw's B1 of the release, called I Can't Feel It, which comes in with a gritty bass hook, euphoric organ lines and ethereal chords that push the track into a "classy House aesthetic". 

Dj Steaw's Colour of Mind EP will be released on on Kaoz Theory on July 15th, 2022.

Cosmic Tiger follow on from their far-reaching 'Messages Volume One' compilation with the psychedelically-charged ‘Planetarium EP’ from label founder, Rocco Universal.

Fresh from his recent ‘Somewhere Else’ appearance on Soul Clap Records, DJ, producer and journalist Patrizio Cavaliere once again adopts his Rocco Universal production moniker, journeying deep into astral realms to serve a scintillating set of floor-focused grooves. His intriguingly eclectic DJ sets regularly veer into unexpected territory, and these diverse influences delicately infuse his varied and gently off-kilter productions. Planetarium EP arrives via the Cosmic Tiger label metamorphosed from the Southeast Asian music blog he launched back in 2019 – a platform poised to awaken from pandemic-enforced slumber this summer.

The EP kicks off with the title track, ‘Planetarium’. Here, Rocco Universal embraces his Italo roots, channelling nocturnal Mediterranean heat into a heartfelt outpouring of hallucinogenic space disco. Thick Moog bass powers the cut over a tight disco rhythm as analogue chords and lead motifs intertwine. Detroit firebrand Scott Hess enlivens the cut with his funk-flecked rhythm guitar line, before a stirring middle section shoots for the stars over a rapturous, conga-led build up. Cosmically rooted and designed to move dancers, this is club-focused music with a contemplative core.

Next, the mesmerising synth threads of ‘Assuage’ arrive as an opioid-fuelled slalom into deep house territory, with Rocco serving a mesmerising take on four/four profundity with a discreetly hallucinatory flourish. Flanging bass relentlessly rolls over crunching drums and loosely-woven synth patterns, with ethereal pads caressing altered vocal stabs as the tripped-out arrangement mischievously diverges. Forged in the psychic depths and steeped in cosmic intention, this hypnotic groove is built for backroom meditations.

Finally, ‘Sleepwalking In Silom’ won over an esteemed selection of DJs and collectors when it appeared on last year’s ‘Messages Volume 1’ compilation, making it a fitting closing moment to the EP. Deep, low-slung and brimming with atmosphere, the altered state groove chugs through waves of tripped-out effects and funk-informed melodies, conjuring the mysterious electricity of the Bangkok neighbourhood after which it takes its name.

The voice behind Mr Fingers and so many other timeless titles. He alone sums up our history, all the greatest tracks that paved the way for our sound & community (yes still though instagram & the self worships) since 40 years. The master sang for Larry Heard but also Frankie Knuckles, Satoshi Tomiie, Photek, Layo & Bushwacka!, Mr. C, Quentin Harris, Marshall Jefferson, Michael Watford, DJ Spen, Gene Hunt, Soul Clap, K' Alexi Shelby, Sandy Riviera and so many others! He is simply the greatest soulful underground vocalist for a generation of househeads. Its inimitable style is a clever mix of chicago house tinged with the most classy techno touches. Up first is L&F, offering us some bass laden UKG badness, followed by Cabale with a tasty slice of piano and pad infused 2-step. Awlies comes through on a sublime and magical breakbeat tip, while Helter lands some twisted yet delightful breaks and bass business. Neathway & Alter hit the halfway mark of the compilation: a tidy piece of jungle action reminiscent of the genres 90s heyday. Up next is Withheld producing a soulful yet energetic drum and bass stunner, followed by Charleeps with a transcendent and acidy yet melancholic electro-breakbeat number. Aevasyon delivers some gorgeous, retro-tinged breakbeat vibes and Talihatta brings the energy down with some clever and subtle downtempo.
