Leeds based party On Rotation launches it’s record label with a LP from resident Adam Pits. His debut album ‘A Recurring Nature’, draws inspiration from time spent in nature with friends during a year when clubbing was an impossibility. Over the course of 8 varied tracks, Adam moves between club slammers and spaced-out introspective downtempo with ease, showing off the production skills that have made him one of the most talked about names of late.

Combining the unique style of his previous club EPs with organic sound design and his own classical cello background, the psychedelic sonic palette is reminiscent of long summer days foraging for mushrooms and other treats from the undergrowth.

Modula’s ninth offering, the “Baila Conmigo” EP, finds label cornerstone Cosmosolar steering the ship with assured confidence. This five-track collection is a vibrant conversation, beginning with its collaborative title piece crafted alongside Mexico’s Tierra de Ovnis (SXDNS295). The original version of “Baila Conmigo” is joined by a VIP reinterpretation and a separate rework from the talented Argentinian producer, Balam (SXDNS048). The EP’s scope broadens further with the inclusion of “Bengala,” a Cosmosolar solo piece that also receives a transformative treatment from V.C.I., ensuring a rich and varied listening journey from start to finish.

Within this context, “Bengala” emerges as a fierce and focused statement. The track immediately establishes a compelling groove, a Latin rhythmic foundation that feels both warm and propulsive. Cosmosolar weaves a tapestry of retro-futuristic elements, where shimmering synth melodies dance against a backdrop of unexpected, wild samples. This combination crafts a deeply atmospheric and almost visual experience, suggesting vast, otherworldly plains. Does the world needs more acid? Yes it does! the R-A-G trio aka Dutch producers Ma Spaventi, G-String & Aroy Dee deliver three raw acid-jams with Aroy on the couch working the mic. The lyrics of Dreadfully Nervous are based on a Edgar Allan Poe story.

'Dreadfully Nervous (Aryd's Acid Mix)' is a gurgling brew of squelchy acid with dark vocals and pinging cowbells pulling you in all directions. Coarse claps and ever more wild synths encourage you to cut loose and make for another timeless cut. 'Dreadfully Stoned' is more stripped back, with a rubbery arpeggiated synth the main hook over subtle, supple drums. Those dark spoken word vocals are back again and the whole thing is freaky and unsettling as a result. Last of all is the bright and glistening 'No Soul' with metal hits and claps and prickly acid all bursting out of dusty Chicago drums. It's raw and sure to fire the synapses just like R-A-G productions always do.

The 28-year-old who has previously released some highly acclaimed music on his home label Casa Voyager as well as on Mechatronica delivers a versatile and funky techno/electro EP with breakbeat and acid influences. Kicking off 2021 in KOC’s teeming keepnet comes courtesy of Roza Terenzi & Fantastic Man under the guise of production unit B’Zircon. 

Merging the pair’s brill touch of trance-suffused elevation and ankle-twisting dynamics, ‘Lazulination’ EP finds the two producers unleashing a steadfast triad of genre-unbound, organic-grown jams out the deepest blue. 

Pulling out a savvy mix of muscular breaks and hi-NRG shuffle, the ‘90s atmospheric techno-laced roller ‘Azure’ revs up towards upper, euphoria-inducing layers of the ravey continuum. 

Breath-hold diving into lush cerulean ocean floors via white sand beachscapes, ‘Ultramarine’ has us speeding up the Gold Coast’s underwater canyons at full throttle. 

Topping off the release is Perko’s crossover of both tunes as one, taking us on a rivetingly soothing, bass-enhanced downtempo ride that shall please both ambient heads and laid-back dubs revellers in unison.
