NEODORSAL is MYEN's debut album. ‘NEODORSAL’ is a fictional-phonetic term inspired by velodorsal consonant pronunciation, which is considered a disordered speech phenomenon. The title is MYEN's take on finding a word to describe their painted vocal signature sounds explored in this album. They explored graphic synthesis to create a personal artificial larynx that functions as their post-organic, artificial vocal-instrument. The end result isn't able to form lyrics or words, but rather enables and highlights the instrument-like quality of the digital voice itself, while sounding organic - as if it was shaped by a human organ.

MYEN's relationship with the human tracts such as the vocal tract or the intestinal tract then became even more profound, when they were forced to deal with their body's response to loss and grief. NEODORSAL functions as MYEN's personal healing system using the vocal sound as a purging, outward-directed and ritualistic release tool. Like a festering process, the vocals bleed and are being released in order to then rest and protect the wound while it heals.

NEODORSAL is available as a digital release, and also as a limited edition physical release: a USB containing the album and additional artwork, and a 3D-printed wearable nosepiece.

NEODORSAL is the 5th release on the Most Dismal Swamp label.

Born in Russia and currently based in Argentina, Sergey Kolesov (@astrosuka) is a musical producer and performer working with several projects within local experimental and dance music scenes. He is one of the founding members, current label manager, visual artist and sound production assistant of the Buenos Aires experimental arts platform @TRRUENO.

His performances are mostly live electronic improvisations based on vocal gestures as virtual instrument control and pad operated electronic percussion. Among Kolesov’s collaborative projects are improvisation acts la_muerte, Columnas de Humo and Огромная родина.

This release is a musical production exploration based on a chaotic blend of dance music rhythmic resources, heavy vocal processing, language disfiguration and sound design.

Versatile A/V artist and producer based between Riga and Berlin, N1L intersects eclectic "club" music experiments with post-industrial psychedelia and intense alien soundscapes. ПОТОП (“potop”, or deluge in Russian) presents seven pieces encapsulating dark apocalyptic themes, each setting the scene for a disorientating sonic landscape that references the genesis flood narrative found in the world’s ancient mythologies. Centered on Earth's return to a pre-anthropocene state of watery chaos, this allegory illustrates both punishment for man’s mortal sins as well as new beginnings born from the washing away of everything that has reached its final, obsolete stage — the message of which is increasingly relevant today.
