AI-28 arrives as a double-12” reissue of an album titled “Lucid Dreams”. Formerly released in 1996 as a CD on the now defunct UK imprint em:t, the album now becomes available for the first time on vinyl. Produced collaboratively by Chris Allen, David Thompson (both co-founders of em:t), plus label affiliates Tom Smyth and Will Joss, the record features outlier academic and philosopher Celia Green narrating passages of her classic book “Lucid Dreams” (published in 1968), seamlessly embellished with atmospheric soundscapes throughout.

Brooding amorphously on the cusp of the unknown, the music captures the quintessentially mysterious quality of dreams and dreaming. Layer by layer, the listener is submerged deep into the subconscious stream. The record curls and unwinds with bewildering influence whilst exploring key themes of Green’s studies, with topics covering hallucinatory states, apparitions, out of body experiences, and extrasensory perception. The collaborative handling of samples and sound material comes together powerfully to create a piece that is both artistically theatrical in flavour and sumptuously immersive – a true documentary for the ears and imagination.

My Microbrute knobs became awfully sticky that i wasn't able to dial a sound, so I grabbed a glove to remove all the sticky crappy knobs, I didn't had a replacement set so I looked into every possible knob available from old gear that was laying around the studio, at the end I replaced them with different knob models, some of them didn't had any marks so was impossible to know the real position, it was a knob salad... then I started twiddling them, suddenly a sound emerged, then this track was created. The track should be named sticky knobs really, but I'm not fond of sticky cheap materials on synths... sometimes interesting sounds do materialize from adversity lol

Adepta Editions proudly presents AE–12, the latest installment in their limited edition 8-inch vinyl series. This release continues their unique artistic collaboration, delving into the ever-evolving landscape of avant-garde electronic music. AE–12 features two captivating tracks by AZ-Rotator, revealing their signature alien and refined sound sculptures in a new and unexpected context. This release marks the culmination of the third AE series, unified by the striking visual artistry of photographer Al Brydon, and featuring contributions from pq, Yaporigami, and White Dove.

AZ-Rotator is the solo project of Madrid-born Uge Ortiz (b. 1976). After stints in hardcore and synth-punk, Ortiz embraced electronica and IDM, launching AZ-Rotator with the 2005 Clorometiconn EP. His cut-up, glitchy sound attracted Berlin's Ad Noiseam, who released his 2006 debut album, Science of Chance. Following releases on various international labels, including Ad Noiseam, Lovethechaos and Discontinu, Ortiz returned in 2020 with self-released EPs and the atmospheric album Look Inside. AZ-Rotator is an eclectic artist with a penchant for exploring new stylistic avenues. This is reflected in recent releases such as Exploring Standards (EVEL), which explores faster tempos and blends footwork influences with experimental funk elements, and Magnetic Neutron Sudoku (Detroit Underground), which takes inspiration from the IDM soundscapes of the early 21st century.

AZ-Rotator has performed at festivals like Sonar, Decibelio, ARCO, Maschinenfest or RBMA, together with artists like Nosaj Thing, Aphex Twin, Cylob, Venetian Snares, Jimmy Edgar or Clark, among others.

Somewhere between techno, early 90s Italian progressive, and goa trance, the debut EP by Astral Renegades is difficult to pigeonhole, but works wonders on a saucer-eyed dancefloor.

The brainchild of a mysterious but established producer, Astral Renegades takes things in a whole new headspinning direction.

EP opener Planetarium sets out its stall early, getting straight into trippy, trancey territory within the first few seconds, an acid bassline underpinning the swirl to devastating effect.

Wunderland goes even deeper, with a mind-bendingly detuned melody and that ever-present acid bass.

Pluto FM on the B-side pushes the repetition to the limit with pulsing synth loops, while EP closer Milchstr brings an element of funk to the bassline.
