With the original release marking Rekids return from hiatus, Radio Slave's The Clone Wars is now revisited with a trio of new interpretations from three distinctive talents on house & techno.

On the A side, Markus Suckut moulds the original into the kind of no-nonsense rolling techno jam that has personified his releases for Mosaic and Figure. The B side enlists two US talents in the shape of Parris Mitchell and DJ Spider, with the former bringing a glitchy take on the jacking Chicago house that Mitchell perfected in his timeless productions for Dance Mania, and the latter shaping the track into crunchy weirdo techno that sits perfectly alongside his output for The Trilogy Tapes and his own NY-based Plan B Recordings.

Rekids founder Radio Slave readies a colossal double A-side titled ‘Overdue’ this June.

“‘The Revenge’ is my homage to clubs like “Rage" and my days growing up in London", says Matt Edwards. “The Reverse’ came from some late night studio sessions in February and I’ve had a lot of fun playing this out. All I can say is it’s very me - stripped back and made for the dance floor”.

Urban field recordings and a spoken word sample set the tone in ‘Revenge’ before an onslaught of breaks erupt into a frenzy; the overall aesthetic borrows upon numerous UK rave hallmarks whilst sounding fresh and impeccably geared for modern DJ use. Meanwhile, ‘Reverse’ is a quintessential Radio Slave record with its polished production, repetitive minimalism and atmospheric aura – rounding off a two-tracker expertly produced with the dancefloor in mind.

Slam have remixed Robert Hood and Carl Craig For Soma Records 500th release.

Soma500 is a very special release that sees label heads Slam visit two memorable tracks for them over this past anniversary year. The duo of Stuart McMillan & Orde Meikle rework Robert Hoods, “The Bond We Formed” - taken exclusively from the Soma25 compilation and a track that has featured highly in countless sets, a unique Slam rework of Carl Craig’s interpretation of Delia Gonzalez & Gavin Russom’s, Relevee.

One of the most sought after tracks from this year’s Soma25 compilation, Robert Hood’s jacked up ‘The Bond We Formed’ is given two unique remixes from Slam. The first remix brings elements of Hood’s original drum workout together with Slam’s spacial sequences. The second remix sees the pair go retro with an homage to the minimal master, utilising proper 90s tripped out tonality.
The B-side brings together the minds of Detroit’s Carl Craig and Slam as the Glaswegian pair rework Carl’s remix into a full on Techno anthem. The instantly recognisable synth work plays the major part with thunderous percussive work helming the backbone of this monster as it swells to a rapturous crescendo.

Manuel Años, AKA Psyk, has much to lay claim to within his relatively short career, having already played at Berghain, Tresor and Stockholm's Fabriken, as well as having himself as a focal point of Madrid's techno scene. His approach seeks to continually purify and refine his sound, and with 'Distance' - his debut release on Mote-Evolver - he melds together new forms of rhythm and expression with the kind of maximal composition and hard energy that the label has honed. The four tracks of 'Distance' pulse, pound and thump their way forward while also showcasing a distinct metabolism that develops throughout this varied release.

The A-side, beginning with 'Distance', establishes a direct, compelling energy that's carried forward by echoing synths that become underlaid with an ever-growing bass. Envelopment is the true characteristic of 'Distance' as it compresses its energy, channels it forward and establishes a strong sense of momentum perfect for any number of following tracks. 'Isolate', the A2 track, properly expresses its title with isolated, intense pulses of warped bass that eventually blend into one another to deliver a highly hypnotic, immersive feel. This sense of repetition creates a spiraling sense of progression that hooks onto the listener and draws them in.

'Rdmn”, the first track on the B-side, brings in a sense of experimentation as it uses different percussive patterns while it searches for its moment to strike. The dented funk of the main bass line ebbs and flows until it finds its groove and immerses itself in it. On the heels of this comes 'Main', the final track that is no less saturated with energy than all the rest. It's pure switched-on dance floor thunder, and surges forward with a straight-forward simplicity. As Psyk's first release on Mote-Evolver, 'Distance' establishes the momentum both for the budding Spanish producer as well as for his supercharged productions to come.
