ARTIST INFORMATION:

The mid-eighties, Madrid. The Spanish capital is teeming under the grip of a musical explosion the likes of which has never been seen before. In the midst of that rabid swirl, a teenager, unknown and unassuming, enters a record shop to blow his savings on an album, Standing on a Beach, by The Cure. Little did he know that this was to be his first step on the long and difficult path to becoming one of the country’s essential djs.

Psyk - Time Foundation

After two successful EP releases on the label, Psyk aka Manuel Anós is back on Mote-Evolver inaugurating his first full-length album effort with “Time Foundation”. 
It’s no surprise that Psyk is releasing his debut album on the label as his previous two EPs Distane (2012) and Arcade (2013) both has left us wanting for more to see his full potentials as a producer. 
Time Foundation proves to be an outstanding collection that shows the full spectrum of Psyk’s sound and the range of skills as he expands and explores different depths and moods. Keeping the energy level constant at the peak, there’s no downtime in “Time Foundation”. And while 10 sharp-cut tracks are all armed with clean, streamlined groove and impressive sound design therefore may sound incredibly slick and effortless, once you listened closely - and they will demand your attention - that kind of breezing through swift force is only the byproduct of Psyk’s high caliber production ability to map out meticulous structures with a great detail.   
The opener “Automatic” rolls like a well-oiled machine on cruise control with the signature unison of single-chord bouncing on top of relaxed but energetic groove. Expanding on the similar theme is “Myriad”, which takes further playful approach. “Riot” steps into more minimal territory, featuring a subtle development that keeps you engaged while “Avalon” grounds itself to just-heavy enough bass kicks to evoke deeper vibe without compromising the uplifting spirit.
Slipped in the middle of the album like an intermission is “Five”, and it’s a curious and ominous kind that flashes a different side of Psyk. It shows off his craftsmanship as muted and muffled beeps faintly goes in and out while blinking synth melody renders unique, intriguing beauty. Starting off the second half is “Silhouette”, picking up the tempo and elevating the mood with much-loved bass drums and claps, followed by demure crescendo of melody and floating fuzzy hiss of “Shift”.  
Perhaps the darkest number on the album, “Nine” may not be the most brooding techno assault but the one designed for the deeper moments you encounter during the longer sessions in the clubs, surrounded by people yet alone with the pulse of music. The album closes with stunning “L3”, and just as “Automatic” was no shy intro but a practical fast-forward to the jest of the story, “L3” is not a conventional closing but rather another opening. Equal parts of swinging white noise and hint of acid may as well invite you back to the beginning of the album to listen all over again.
Time Foundation is packed with no-frills, on-point straight techno tracks. It’s a highly functional album and strong effort from Psyk that spoils the listener with mesmerizing details and provides the diversity of sounds and textures today’s techno has to offer.

like the towering monolith from which this track takes it's name, "jacinto" brings you a lush soundscape showcasing hombre plata's ability to take his signature sound and augment with more progressive, deep, driving sounds. Ethereal, Ephemeral, and shifting. As steadfast as the second tallest mountain in Southern California, "jacinto" inspires introspection and love for one another.

Oliver Deutschmann, who operates the Berlin-based Vidab label along with Stephan Hill, specializes in what he calls “timeless” club music – while it’s a term that initially seems like it could apply to anything and everything, a quick survey of Deutschmann’s work makes it readily apparent what he means. His hard-edged beats, insistent tones, and occasional flash of devious humor make Deutschmann a natural addition to the Mote Evolver roster: his natural versatility and clear-minded futurism result in compelling club tracks and DJ nights, and his Mote Evolver debut EP Lost In A  Loop is no exception to this rule. With just a simple schematic to work with, Deutschmann does what the best producers do and enlivens those simple instructions until they give an illusion of greater complexity.

Deutschmann’s deft usage of split-second samples on the opening track “Seduced” turns a distant, repeated murmur of the track title into an inescapable command, while a dense undergrowth of acid bassline makes it clear there’s no turning back. The interlude “Apsurt” follows with lofty, faintly ominous synth pads providing the backing to a glass elevator ride to the top of a skyscraper utopia, all while a reassuring monologue on neurology points towards a future of human connectivity. The tension between the dark-tinted instrumentation and these utopian pronouncements is a classic techno trope that Duetschmann employs to great effect.

On the b-side, “Survive” plays out very much like the more intense and anxious twin of “Seduced,” again relying on the repeitition of a single reverberating word to set the tone, while the hammering drum patterns fill in the details. The closer “Lost” dispenses with the vocalisations completely and lets the steaming mechanical processes take center stage: the stripped-down symbiosis of body and brain that this track achieves is very rperesnetative of Deutschmann’s work overall.
