Relative newcomer Recut Music wasted no time generating serious measures of heat with their three previous Disco-fuelled releases. On the controls once again is the talented old school DJ producer who returns on his own Vinyl only imprint with 4 House, Disco & Acid-tinged tracks inspired by the early sounds of Chicago. For the first cut in this project Recut dusts off his shelves and diggs deep into his collection to Re-Edit forgotten warehouse banger 'It's All In Your Mind', he effortlessly refreshes and transports this gem into 2022. Next up 'House Intensity' does exactly what it says on the tin with its warm and percussive bassline & hypnotic arpeggios which will take you to a cosmic dimension. 'Disco Chicago' is the track that gives the project its name, it has an ensemble of drum sounds from the 808 and 303 to create this authentic Acid House gem that will fill any dancefloor. Correspondant present the vinyl sampler for their 3rd label compilation. Following in the success of the previous two entries in the series, this latest edition provides a perfect snapshot of how the relatively young label has matured over three years, with contributions from a range of artists including big names (such as Roman Flügel and Chloe), close Correspondant family (like Man Power and Red Axes), and exciting new rising talent (including Bird of Paradise and Sigward).

With eight tracks, split over two records, Compilation 03 sees curator and label owner, Jennifer Cardini, displaying an even wider musical breadth than the previous two compilation incarnations, but still represents the undefinable yet unmistakable sound which truly marks out Correspondant as unique.

Correspondant Compilation 03 is due out via Correspondant on June 15.

As the year progresses, Apollonia keeps up its steady release schedule with a delightful new EP from Swiss alchemist, Alci. The young producer has already made an impact with some tre cool releases with labels like Robsoul, owned by Paris rudeboy, Phil Weeks. The EP gets moving with a track called ‘Garden Of Buddha’ which is a perfect example of Alci’s ability to cook up strange sounds while keeping it groovy and dance floor-friendly. ‘All Bun’ follows with more of the same; original flavours, minimal composition, with deep, catchy rhythms and vocal clips. ‘Traveling Soul’ closes things up neatly, giving us an enchanting collection of effects with a pulsating bassline that will have you gripped from the moment it appears.
