From his early days at remote desert gatherings, to his constant touring of clubs and music festivals with world renowned downtempo sensation Desert Dwellers, his career has traversed many musical styles and genres. Blending world music with cutting-edge sound design, Amani Friend has amassed an enormous catalog between his projects Desert Dwellers, Liquid Bloom, and Variant Field. Traveling the international festival circuit and staying on the road with a jam-packed schedule, AMANI continues to bring his alchemy of ancient-future psychedelia to dance floors around the globe. Equally adept at sonically fueling the spirit of large yoga classes or high-energy dance floors, Amani’s sonic offerings provide a journey into the imaginative realms of movement and sound.

M.A.N.D.Y. Warming Up December

In Hour 2 we welcome German duo Âme, whose productions have featured many times on Solid Steel over the years. From their early releases on Sonar Kollektiv and their own Innervisions label, they have consistently produced music of high quality. In this mix they start with the melancholic vocal of Patrick Watson on The Cinematic Orchestra's 'To Build a Home' and on to the sound of Land Observations, Rotla and the Brian Eno project alongside Karl Hyde. Then it's Cirrus by Bonobo, Owen Pallett on Domino, To Rococo Rot and a remix of Peter Gabriel by Frank Wiedemann (one half of Âme) before closing with the beautiful sound of Joram Feitsma.

So stoked to finally share my set from Motion Notion 2015 with you all! This was a pretty special set for me as it was my first time playing in Canada, and I had an absolutely wicked time.

This mix is probably my best to date and features over 20 of my own tracks and a tonne of exclusives that I've been playing out all summer long.
