To coincide with the 500th episode of Canadian radio host and dedicated vinyl collector Trevor Wilkes has compiled a 15 track compilation in respect of the artists who feed his inspiration to broadcast weekly and relentlessly for the last 17 years.

Since 2003 Trevor Wilkes has been committedly streaming weekly from his techno bunker in Canada - connecting with the European techno scene through mixing his collection of gritty four four. Taking lead from the school of techno set out by Cristian Vogel, Neil Landstrumm and their peers Bleep Radio has been a foundational stronghold for supporting and celebrating wonky techno and its diverging parts with a clear focus on off-kilter, ruff around the edges and hard hitting records. His support for this sound has brought him over to the UK frequently appearing on lineups for Jerome Hill’s institutional 'Don’t' parties.

Four Four Premiere: JoeFarr - To See Her [All The Bleeps]

Today we premiere a track from one of the most well respected producers and highly regarded sound engineers Joe Farr, as the User Experience head honcho gets ready to release his 'Surface Tension' EP tomorrow.

Given the last 14 months, Joe jokes in his press release about "Four tracks that are meant to be heard in a club, but probably won't be", but we can assure you, we'll be rinsing this EP out as soon as we can, now that the end of lockdowns are in sight. In the meantime, blasting it from your bluetooth speaker in the park will do just nicely.

We premiere the fourth track on the EP entitled 'I Last Forever', which is a dark, moody and pacy dance floor thumper, full of hi-hats and big room energy.

To celebrate its tenth release Mekanika Recordings goes vinyl. The first release from the label on plastic is a Various Artists best of (kind of) from the label. It will come out in a limited edition, 100 numbered copies. The EP opens with label boss Stevo Kurt’s industrial techno track 'De-Mo-Dex' in a dancefloor-friendly remix by UK producer Ade Fenton.

Berlin-based Greek DJ and producer AgainstMe delivers the prime time banger 'This Killed My Ego'. On the Other Side we have German Neue Schule artist David Löhlein with the title track ‘Sion” of his release for the label, followed by Temporal Regularity’s blissfully hypnotic 'Atta'.

DEAS returns to Chris Liebing’s CLR with ‘Scope EP’ this March.

Previously appearing on CLR with two heavy techno EPs in 2022, the Greece-born, Poland-based DJ/producer and BAU MUZIK label boss DEAS returns to Chris Liebing’s imprint with ‘Scope EP’, bringing another collection of his fierce techno productions for his first release in 2023. 

Leading the release, the title track ‘Scope’ brings powerful kicks alongside airy, filtered synths for an emotive yet stomping opening cut. ‘Dopamine’ follows with grinding, attitude-filled bass and tweaked-out bleeps for an energetic, heads-down affair. ‘Coral’ sees DEAS draw for trippy textures, dense percussion, and rattling drums before closing track ‘Redemption’ rounds out the release with another high-grade techno offering.
