Autumn Poem

Me and @moromusik's set from Tales from the Deep! This was a very special evening for us; the inaugural event for our fledgeling collective, our first time playing together, and the beginning of an event series dedicated to bringing downtempo sounds to Portland, OR. It was quite a magical night and we are super happy to share this set with you ♥︎

The final track is a poem featuring my voice played over the tracks "Canoes" by O/Y and "La Danza de las Almas" by Tlazohtla. It was accompanied by contemporary dance performance by the movement artist Luis Enrique Nájera. Special thanks to @floydvader for production help! About the Journey:

Travesía Forestal - A deep and storytelling voyage through a wide range of tribal, organic and hypnotic downtempo music. Continuously staying at 93 bpm, this mix doesn't change by speed but through depth. Exploring these layers of downtempo is reflecting my current inner state in a way that cannot be described by words. It's this current phase that I find myself in these days. In life there can be many unexpected turbulences that pop up every once in a while - often they like to come in a high frequency within a relatively short time span and suddenly everything around you can start to feel very rocky and unstable. Especially in these days it is important to bundle your energy in order to keep navigating through it. It needs prioritisation of where to direct your energy into. This also means that you have to be willing to back out of things you have already planned in order to give your body and soul the necessary rest for recovery and reflection. Hang in there and see every situation for what it is. Eventually you'll see that things will calm down - silence and self-realisation will return to being the prevailing states. These phases of life come and go like seasons throughout the year, like waves in our beautiful oceans, like the ever repeating cycle of life itself. We just got to accept, that also the not so easy times are here to teach us something. Namasté.


Bio: 


Saymon aka. Sneffinsky is the physical form of a soul constantly drifting through the cosmos, continuously inspired by new impulses and styles - the manifestation of life in the drift, whis results in enjoying and playing a wide variety of different styles and BPM ranges. For a while now he has immersed himself into the multilayered cloud of downtempo music, with which he feels he can create rooms that have the highest potential to truly connect to our inner essence. His current base is Berlin - however, having living in many different places and frequently roaming throughout this planet is Sneffinsky’s life elixir that keeps inspiring and providing him with new insights.

This set is mostly created with sounds collected from all over the world, in order to add an ethnic feeling to my livesets. 
I did not take time to focus on details or shape the sound too much, so most tracks are yet unfinished and it has a very spontaneous vibe to me. 
Thus I rather consider the set as a "preview" of what might come out soon. Still decided to upload it though, to challenge my terrible lack of musical output;)

Originating from ancient Greek, Mousikē is the union of 3 things; words with or without meaning, physical moves that we call dance and the evolution of music.

Rising from the land of muses, Anatolia; Mousikē started as a Soundcloud page & private parties in Istanbul. Now it turned into a series of musical gatherings all around the world, which ended up as a vibrant community with a great variety of colours and tastes.

With launch of Mousikē Records, roots of our young tree are expanding to various channels and music platforms to grow & give more goods to wider community; and eventually die and decompose to its core elements which will become life & inspiration to other livings in the universe.
