After our Stachecast debut two weeks ago it is time to reveal some more details about our second session. With this Stachecast # 002 we leave the club dancefloor for a more sophisticated, dub influenced laidback session.

@TinyType is a friendly and deeply gifted Austrian composer, producer and label boss that knows all about shrinking dub down into atomic dimensions. His refreshing productions are influenced by many electronic styles and are often spiced with Asian flavours. 
Since 2012 TinyType is releasing his typical contemporary dub productions on his own Audiocalligraphy. This young label's archive stores a fistful of releases fusing deep dubby basslines with melodic rhythms, hypnotic soundscapes and ambient atmospheres. Alongside releases on his own label, the man has already published other pieces on respected labels like Iglu House Records, PlastikFM.

Today we are proud to announce that MoustacheMusic has the honour to release a very exclusive TinyType mixtape. The mesmerizing and heart-warming Stachecast # 002 will be as unforgettable as his legendary mix sessions on the national Austrian radiostation FM4.

@Renaat is someone that keeps thinking forward. He still has the gift to discover new, interesting artists. We really admire his unlimited motivation to let people discover the newest club tracks but also tunes that are meant for home listening. We know him as someone who is truly in love with music, horses, sports cars, drums & jazz…

Although he's not a DJ, he started playing the decks earlier this year. He even started to perform at some special occasions, for instance at 10DaysOff, the internationally well known indoor electronic summer festival in Gent. He is all doing this just for fun.

This living legend also accepted to do a mixtape for our biweekly Stachecast series. In this special edition he gives us a preview on several tracks that will be released on R&S and Apollo in 2014.

Due to the end of the year holidays our latest release had a few days of delay.  In the end, patience is not a bad thing at all for a stunning piece like this. Once again, MoustacheMusic is extremely proud to present another chapter of the Stachecast series!!

DJ GRAZZHOPPA is the man that mixed Stachecast # 005 exclusively for our slightly growing MoustacheMusic-blog. Followers maybe would not have expected a mixtape in this completely different style but from the beginning Grazzhoppa was on top of our wanted list. For many of you this undisputable Belgian Hip Hop pride needs no introduction. 

DJ Grazzhoppa is a Ghent based DJ, turntablist and producer that has been bitten by the hiphop virus back in 1984. He became European DMC Champion. after winning several local DJ battles. In 1998 he also added the title of Belgian Champion I.T.F. (International Turntablist  Federation) to his palmares. That same year he was 3rd on the I.T.F World Championships. From then on his numerous projects like DJ Grazzhoppa’s DJ Bigband, Mo&Grazz, These Handz and his countless collaborations became more and more successful.

~ About The Story ~

I need the sea because it teaches me,
I don’t know if I learn music or awareness,
if it’s a single wave or its vast existence,
or only its harsh voice or its shining
suggestion of fishes and ships.
The fact is that until I fall asleep,
in some magnetic way I move in
the university of the waves.
It’s not simply the shells crunched
as if some shivering planet
were giving signs of its gradual death;
no, I reconstruct the day out of a fragment,
the stalactite from a sliver of salt,
and the great god out of a spoonful.
What it taught me before, I keep. It’s air

Campfire Stories 7 (Secrets Of The Sea) by Francesco Piunti

After being out of circulation for quite some time, MoustacheMusic is finally back on track. With great patience we reserved Stachecast 10 for a master in his own kind. Laurent Bisch aka Fingers in The Noise, father of 3, has a profound love for ambient, dub(techno), deep and experimental. 

This hardworking veteran started producing music over 20 years ago. He is a world renowned and respected example for many young producers. On his YouTube-channel he is more than likely to share his knowledge through tutorial means.
Throughout the years, Fingers in The Noise has built up an impressive discography, with releases on various labels. Ever since he traded party lifestyles to becoming a dedicated family man, he has devoted his spare time composing music.
Fingers in The Noise would like to dedicate this guestmix as a tribute to the recent events of Paris’ Charlie Hebdo. It is in that spirit this Stachecast will be named “We are all Charlie”.
Laurent, we would like to thank you again for contributing to our Stachecast Series!

Jedenasty odcinek to pierwszy podcast BTS w 2015 roku, którego gościem jest włoski producent i DJ – Ness.
Artysta swoją podróż z muzyką elektroniczną rozpoczął w późnych latach 90'. Jego ewoluujące zainteresowania i pasja błyskawicznie zachęciły go do rozpoczęcia kariery dj'a eksperymentującego z różnymi gatunkami - od transu do czystej muzyki eksperymentalnej. 
Mając doświadczenie w inżynierii dźwięku oraz wiele lat w poszukiwaniu i dostrajaniu brzmień, stopniowo ukształtował swój niepowtarzalny styl sfokusowany na atmosferycznym i hipnotycznym brzmieniu. 
W 2007 roku otworzył swój własny sklep z płytami w rodzinnej Sardynii (Włochy), a dwa lata później założył swój pierwszy label Mono Records. 
Uznany za indywidualny styl, Ness pracował z takimi wytwórniami jak Phorma (Szwecja), Synewave (USA), Dynamic Refleksja (Holandia), M_Rec Ltd. (Włochy), Informa (UK), Prolog (Niemcy), itp. Współpracował z takimi artystami jak Claudio PRC(1/2 The Gods Planet), Deepbass, Attemporal, Rasmus Hedlund, itp.
Aktualnie od 2010 roku razem z Claudio PRC współtworzy niezależną wytwórnię TGP. 
Muzyka Nessa i jego dj sety są ochoczo przyjmowane przez publikę i definiowane jako badanie szerokiej gamy głębokiego i hipnotycznego techno oraz muzyki ambientowej.

With a background in sound engineering and many years of research and fine-tuning, he gradually developed a distinct personal style with a strong focus on atmosphere combined with hypnotic vibes. In 2007 he opened his own record store in his hometown in Sardinia (Italy) and 2 years later he founded his first label - Mono Records.
Acknowledged for his individual style, Ness has worked with labels like Phorma (Sweden), Synewave (USA), Dynamic Reflection (The Netherlands), M_Rec Ltd. (Italy), Informa (UK), Prologue (Germany), etc. and collaborated with artists like Claudio PRC half member of The Gods Planet, Deepbass, Attemporal, Rasmus Hedlund, etc.
Currently he is running TGP - an independent platform established since 2010 with Claudio PRC.
Ness music and dj sets are well accepted and defined as an exploration of wide range of deep and hypnotic techno and ambient soundscapes.

We are back again! This time we're coming up with an exclusive live mix by one of Malta's finest electronic producers. Little is known about this one man project called Stimulus Timbre. We do know that his dreamy and somewhat dark sound is ranging from electronica, ambient to IDM. This Stachecast reflects exactly what's going on in his very personal electronic bubble. All the tunes in the tracklist are made by the man himself. 

Besides this personal project Keith Farrugia teamed up with other Maltese quality producers. @Electronic-Travelers is the collab between him and Rhys Celeste aka @Microlith and RAIM is the collaboration between himself and the Maltese acid wonder @Acidulant. Every project he's involved with sounds fresh and is promising in every way. So, better keep an eye on him.

Taron-Trekka is an amazing dj/production duo from Jena (Crisder & DMS) Since 1996 they’ve mesmerized their audiences with enchanting dj-sets.
Their distinctive style has been a great influence on the modern day sound of Jena & its surrounding area. On top of that they’re the backbone of the legendary ‘Freude Am Tanzen’.
Since 2006 they’re also a production team with quit a refreshing approach. Their productions shed a new light on house music, it is as if their grooves single handedly changed the face of house.
Taron-Trekka are dj’s from when dj still actually meant something. They have a distinct preference for vinyl and a storytelling, dance-focused deep sound, which balances between house and techno. This exclusive contribution to MoustacheMusic unmistakably proves that.
We at MoustacheMusic hope that this publication will be their window for Belgian promoters as well as the Belgian crowd. We ask ourselves who will be first to let this duo hit Belgian ground?

Taron-Trekka ~ Stachecast #012 ~ Consciousness of a Rose ~ [STC012]

The Modulator aka Freddy Fresh is a Minneapolis/Minnesota based underground musician, DJ and electronic music producer. Fresh has recorded for over 100 independent record labels, including major labels Sony UK, Virgin, BMG UK, and Harthouse Germany. He is also founder of the record labels Howlin’ Records, Electric Music Foundation, and Analog.

Fresh had two international hit records in the UK, "Badder Badder Schwing" (featuring Fatboy Slim) and "What It Is". Fresh has performed in clubs, as well as festivals, including: Glastonbury Festival, Creamfields Festival UK, Reading-Leeds Festival, and Jazz and Groove Festival and played for radio stations all over the world like Essential Mix.

The Modulator exclusively recorded a live jam for MoustacheMusic and we are proud to release it today for all of you.

The recording was made in Freddy's analog studio with Arp 2600 / Roland System 100M Modulars, Jupiter 8, TR-8, System 1, TR 606, Acidlab 303 and Ableton (and Reaktor) 
Many tracks are exclusive Modulator tracks that will be released on Electric Music Foundation label (Freddy Fresh Techno label).. Also some rare Disco and Electro records remixed with TR 808 and TR 909 by Freddy, some harder more techno sounds included. Lots of Sound Design on this mix with Modular Systems. In other words: nothing less but exclusive niceness!

The Modulator aka Freddy Fresh ~ Stachecast #013 ~ Woosh ~ [STC013]

Hasan Hujairi is a Bahrein composer, sound artist and independent researcher, who is currently focussed on his PhD trial on Korean Traditional Music Composition in Seoul (South Korea). 

His sound installations based on historiography and ethnomusicology have been appreciated in Seoul, Tokyo, London, Glasgow, New York, Amsterdam, Beirut and Bahrein. Since the Red Bull Music Academy in London he has gained more attention amongst the crowd. MoustacheMusic ventured if the man would like to contribute to their Stachecasts.

It goes without question that Hasan was granted full artistic freedom to prepare his session. From our side, we knew we shouldn’t expect a typical mix, or mix at all for that matter. MoustacheMusic really just wanted to explore the academic mind of this following guest. ‘Formulae’ is Hasan’s exclusively created piece for MoustacheMusic. It’s a very personal and endearing experimental work of art, which will take you into the depths of Hasan’s world and mind. To avoid missing the clue of his story, just like Hasan, we urge you to experience this session through earphones in lieu of speakers.


Session background: 

"Formulae is an arc of sonic concerns Hasan Hujairi has as someone with a hand in electronic music, sound art, and Middle Eastern musical traditions. The session jogs through different and disjointed approaches as Hujairi delicately negotiates the direction of the work. Nevertheless, the (sometimes deceptive) sense of quiet the listener gets makes him or her imagine that this session is in fact a narrative of peculiar secrets and lessons. The entire session is designed to be carefully listened to on headphones." (H. Hujairi)


After several listening sessions on our own part, we’ve only discovered just a fraction of what this art piece is about. Perhaps through headphones you might be able to figure out the whole story!
So please, grab your headphones, faze out all external interruptions, close your eyes, open your mind and allow yourself to be part of this magical piece of art.

Little is known about our latest guest. What we know is that Benjha is one of the many gifted Greek artists we've discovered in the last few years.  His wide interest in quality music is reflected in his countless splendid releases and in his ever surprising mixtapes. The man doesn't care about the online exposure given to him. He keeps on doing what he does best, bringing out the finest music for your ears. 

Benjha is one of those promising passionate artists to keep an eye on. His hard work has been rewarded by a well deserved release on Nicolas Jaar's imprint Other People.  We're sure that the best is yet to come.

Benjha, thank you so much for contributing to our Stachecast series. It means a lot to us. We're sure people will get surprised by your eclectic selection. Once again we prove that MoustacheMusic does not stand for one particular style. Quality over quantity is our device.

My approach for this mix was defined by the fact that I had to do it while travelling for my Americas tour. So I picked out a selection of my favourite tracks before leaving, and was constrained to use only these. The difficulty was that I had chosen a load of different genres, so it turned into a puzzle of how to fit them all together into some sort of coherent flow. It was a good way to work in the end as it encouraged me to make edits of lots of the tracks, and also lead to some nice unexpected combinations.
