The follow up EP to Yellow Claw’s epic Jeffree’s debut, Amsterdam Twerk Music cleans up your definition of “dirty” just so they can strip it down to booty claps and bass rolls. The first track, “DJ Turn It Up” is a subtle dance floor anthem reminiscent of the heavy bass from your nostalgic middle school days of grinding to timeless hip-hop anthems.

On the second track, Yellow Claw teams up with Tropkillaz and The Kemist to bring us “Assets,” a track that twists its vocals in a way that winds through the most bass-hungry, whimsical quarter of your imagination. “P*$$YRICH feat. Adje” then transports you deeper into Yellow Claw’s bass dungeon, leaving its victims up against the walls bumping and grinding till sunrise.

Amsterdam Twerk Music concludes with “Slow Down”, an addictive baseline paired with a jock-jams reminiscent hook. Yellow Claw are the tastemakers of guilty pleasure. But lets be honest… there’s no guilt attached to the obsession.

MBS is a collaboration between Skinny Friedman and Scott Melker, two veteran east coast club DJ's who cut their teeth in the vaunted post-millenial scene in Philadelphia. Their production takes the sound of the timeless, percussive bangers that ruled the clubs a decade ago at around 93 bpm, and updates it for the EDM era. Their inspiration is early Neptunes, Swizz Beats, Mannie Fresh, Beats By The Pound and, of course, Lil Jon.

The first MBS release is a remix of Trina and Kiler Mike's nasty "Look Back At Me". Trina's 2008 single flew somewhat under the radar but has aged well and remains a hidden gem for both Scott and Skinny. The remix reassembles the original drums over synth stabs and 808's. It also preserves Trina's awesome claim that her ass is "big like the sun".

This remix is the tip of the iceberg for the duo. With a growing stockpile of tracks, MBS aims to release a collection of tracks with rappers and stand-alone songs by the end of 2014.

Wow, Elvis found us! And we’re happy! Do not expect Rock ‘n’ Roll, but for sure some great tunes from Elvis (which is btw. his real first name!). After many UK based producers, it’s time again for some homeboys. Elvis is a young DJ and producer from Zurich/Switzerland and his “Humney” EP is his first full release to date.
“Humney” is that catchy House tune with a touch of the 90`s house sound, with a great bassline, sexy vocals (from the lovely Choklate) and solid beats. The up and coming Palace (Hot Haus Records) adds a rougher vibe with his remix, but it’s still “Humney”. "The Way" is taking a deeper direction and shows that Elvis Cassetta is definitely a name to watch out for!

Kapote loves the funk. And he loves Blaxploitation movies. The black underground cinema from the 70's. Kapote samples dirty talk from these movies and puts it on his bass lines. Melodic basslines with a heavy 1070 funk vibe. Bass lines that can create a sexual tension. Kapote adds a few warm, jazzy rhodes piano chords and a lot of reverbs and filtering. And the music rolls. Often more like a jam then like a constructed piece of music. In the highest points this music is pure endorphin. It's 4 to the floor - but it has a soulful analogue sound. Kapote says he was listening to records from old Detroit label Red Planet and Parisian downtempo pioneers Motorbass and La Funk Mob while making this record. And yes, the vibe is there. Like these guys Kapote likes to build his musical trips around snippets from old funk vinyl. Adding beats with vintage drum machines and creating an eclectic trip into a universe full of jazzy bits, noisy drums and dirty samples.

Three dance floor hitters by the Dutch Arp Frique. "Nos Magia" holds collaborations with Nigerian funkster Orlando Julius and Cape-Verdean legend Americo Brito. Surprising new cuts that could easily have been made in the 70ties! Big tip!

Arp Frique is Niels Nieuborg from the city of Rotterdam, who has been actively involved in the Dutch live music scene for years, working with Cape Verdean & Surinamese musicians especially. After all these years, he finally presents his own true musical output. 

"Nos Magia" is a classic sounding, but unheard Cape Verdean funana song featuring the old skool Americo Brito on vocals. The b-side holds two collaborations with afro-beat protagonist Orlando Julius.....enjoy!!

As always Kling Klong gives space for new artists and supports upcoming talents. This time Martin Eyerer & Rainer Weichhold had no doubts signing this debut release from Stuttgart's dj/producer Ninetoes as 'Finder' is obviously a massive stand-out track which has the words 'summer hit' written all over it. So it was just easy to convince Leon and Re-UP from Italy to do the remixes and help to make this release even more oustanding.
