I discovered Frankie Knuckles through his music, one that was, gentle, lush with a subdued, understated power that rocked many a dancefloor.
I had the privilege to hear him once in the heyday of his legendary residency at Sound Factory Bar in New York. I was submerged, sonically and emotionally by the beauty of the music I heard that night. I remember very clearly saying to myself that this would be impossible to ever equal.
That was 20 years ago, and I never got to hear this magic combination again.

I got to meet Frankie a few times, and he was always like his music, gentle, humble,   yet naturally imposing

I've put together here some of my favorite music from him. So that his legacy can keep on inspiring other people.

Rest in peace, Frankie, may your music keep on moving people eternally

If you were keeping an eye on Data Transmission during 2014, you may have noticed we've quite a penchant for Cera Alba. Born in Newcastle, but educated in house by way of Leeds and Ibiza, he's made Single of the Week, received 8/10s for his Synthetic Artistry and The Void EPs, and we got our hands on an exclusive premiere of his track 'Dura'.

But that was last year. What about 2015? Cera Alba couldn't possibly keep up such a storming assault on the world of dance, right? Wrong. Recruited by ALiVE Recordings, Alba continues to impress with his Silver Rails EP - a funky, 5-track affair, with remixes from Kalyde and Latmun.

Vomvo is a conceptual album created by Sincopat that gives a different artist every year the chance to orchestrate his own soundtrack. Darlyn Vlys was the first one to develop this concept last year, and his Vomvo was an emotive, dark and smooth story about his past present and future. For this year the Sincopat kaiser AFFKT is the man at the controls:
“I wanted to be rawer and darker that usually I am, but also really emotional on the selection and the collaboration tracks I made on purpose for this project”
For the third chapter of the story Darlyn Vlys and HearThuG work together again for a futuristic piece called 'Atoms of Love'. For the third original track of his Vomvo AFFKT joins Mike Ravelli in a fantastic analog road to 90s tech-house highly influenced by The Chemical Brothers or Westbam. We welcome back one of the best voices in the Electronic scene with the collaboration between Thomas Gandey and the new project Artbat formed by Ukrainian team Dj Artur and Batish. Last but not least Iman Habibi aka Habischman presents an epic and hypnotic track that perfectly defines the shape of this Vomvo 2015 by AFFKT.  
“I had an initial idea about the mood for my Vomvo, but most of the tracks arrived to me naturally from several artists/friends I respect. I was sure about the sound I wanted for the whole project so I mixed in my studio most of the tracks and got involved also on the creating process on some of them”
Vomvo 02 is a timeless album work and selection handcrafted with care and love by AFFKT for Sincopat.
