What we have here, is something really really special… I am talking about the pinnacle and excellence of the industry and profession. Probably 1 of the best nights on the West Coast in San Francisco in 1999… The way the mix builds, DJ after DJ, it is relentless, on and on and on, the quality of the 1999-era house. Then into the introduction of Swayzak’s live mix using large hardware samplers, this is super special! You heard it here 1st. I have been listening to it for 20 years and you will still be in 20 years time, that is 40 years after it was made… The golden era, total perfection, a total masterpiece (worthy of academic study and investigation) and a miracle it exists once again. Here is the remedy to Covid-19 and the worldwide mess. It is going to work you up and shack you down, wow, come on! Big, big stuff! It really hurts this 1!!!

Forthcoming on HOUSeTOwN Recordings, we have three veteran producers and DJs coming together for a three track release. All three are exceptional ambassadors of underground house music, each with multiple decades of pushing the sounds of the underground.  With releases on multiple labels all over the globe and countless DJ bookings over the decades, these three powerhouses have come together to remix Paul Dynes latest work entitled Returning Home.

For the release, Paul Dyne brought the original to life with a classic piece of dance floor business. So we had to do it justice on the remix tip. Enter Andrew Macari, Label Boss of Greenhouse Recordings, and Alexander East founder of Planet East Recordings. 2 phenomenal producers and musicians with decades of releases under their belts.

 The opening cut comes from Paul Dyne. A veteran of the Texas underground scene.  He brings decades of Djing and production knowledge to the table. He was on a studio hiatus for a while, building his family and career. But he's back now, Just started his own label and returns to form here like he never left the dj booth/studio. 

Paul starts us off with some nicely detailed percussion that mixes with ease, then develops a groove, layering the elements, a few stabs and pads then, wham, a thick, chuggin 'bassline drops in that just captivates the ear immediately.  The low end rolls and chugs along beautifully, and you know your ears are in for a treat. From there the track continues to keep the feet moving and the vibes rocking with super slick production work; featuring beautifully layered pads, stabs, funky rhythms and a solid groove. Add in a beautiful vocal sample that just rings true to proper underground house music itself, it all rides nicely on Paul's signature infectious drum programming, and the result is a track made for djs, by djs, and absolutely built for the dancefloor.

My musical odyssey started about two decades ago. 
That was a short time before the fall of the Berlin wall.
 
It was in the early nineties, when we had immigrated to Germany. I was 15. As so often in life, the beginning was a mere accident in conjunction with a youngster's curiosity.

We had moved into another town, where I happened to pass a record shop and heard this music - unlike anything I had ever heard before.
It was loud, it was hard, it was Jeff Mills Waveform Transmission Vol. I. This name was to thread through my rather modest biography like a recurrent theme

The sound was fearsome and exciting at the same time, an encounter with something quite unknown.
I was just curious … where does this music come from, who makes it, and above all how do they do it!??

At a later date the puzzle came together when various facts gradually combined into a picture that had a name to it - Detroit !!

And there were other masterpieces: Robert Hood - Minimal Nation, Kenny Larkin - Metaphor and Laurent Garnier - Shot in the Dark.

More records followed, 2 Turntables and a battle mixer. My collection increased with my musical likings.

I then went back to the roots. Soul and jazz music became decisive factors in my musical development.
Techno made me a music lover, but I was not limited to one style.
Towards the end of the decade I stopped putting on records and took up photography … but that is a different story

Although I was not active in terms of music in the new millennium, my enthusiasm for that sound and my respect for the artists remained unabated.
And in early 2007, again quite accidentally (how else), I started to make music myself.
