The 144th release on Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Natural Flow back to the label for a brand new EP. Hailing from Mexico and Argentina respectively, Hugo Ibarra and Antu Coimbra make up the Natural Flow production team. The duo's deep, mystical take on techno has won over the likes of Tale Of Us, Mind Against, Hunter Game, Fur Coat, Shall Ocin, Agents Of Time, Gardens Of God and Locked Groove. Following a contribution to Movement's 'Modern Filosophy' collection in September of 2015 Natural Flow went on to release their first EP in December of the same year. Now following a well received contribution to the Akbal Records 10 Year anniversary release (again played by Tale Of Us) the duo present their brand new EP entitled 'Floating/Clockwork' alongside a remix from Ran Salman. 

Natural Flow has always challenged people's musical perceptions. Through distinctive design and spacey soundscapes the duo have carved out their own unique place in the underground. 'Floating' showcases this wonderfully with mysterious and deeply compelling architecture. Buzzing sonics built around a smooth, meditative groove and poignant pads make for a gorgeous seven minute journey. The companion piece 'Clockwork' comes in equally mesmerizing with psychedelic structures and alien like design immediately grabbing your attention. Solemn yet hopeful, it's emotive range is vast, accentuated perfectly with devilish hooks and astral trails.

The lone interpretation of 'Floating' is provided by Ran Salman who is making his first appearance on the label. With releases on esteemed imprints such as Einmusika, Steyoyke and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, the Israeli artist has become one of his country's most exciting electronic music talents. Now making his much anticipated debut on Movement Recordings Ran takes 'Floating' into tougher, techno inspired territory. Punchy kicks and waves of growling bass anchor the piece, while dramatic organs and a shifting modular theme build expertly into a symphonic sunrise; spiritually fulfilling and perfectly dialled for the dance floor. The sixth EP of Infinite Depth is produced by the Spanish artist Asonante (@asonante). It has been a long wait till a new release of this characteristic producer, but it’s finally here. Asonante managed to create two atmospheric and dark, but still melodic tracks: ‘Appearances’ and ‘The Silfos’. The first one got a more melodic touch by Oliver Winters (@oliverwintersuk) and the second one got into the techno hands of Symmetric & Future of Matter (@Symmetricofficial & @futureofmatter). This all forms a four-track banger of an EP, called ‘Daydream EP’.

‘Appearances’ is a great example of the unique sound of Asonante. A frightening and appealing sound drags you through the whole track, surrounded by a catchy melody. Toward the end of the track this appealing sound falls down and so it creates its climax.

The touch of Oliver Winters made the previously described track even more haunting, but also more melodic. He managed to create a very captivating melody, which got enclosed by the elements of the original.

The third track, called ‘The Silfos’, is a big dancefloor banger with an atmospheric and floating lead, also characterizing for the sound of Asonante. During the track a second hovering layer comes in which brings the track to its peak. 

Symmetric & Future of Matter applied their view on ‘The Silfos’ by creating a spacey techno remix. They took the main lead and fenced it in with hypnotic elements. Perfect for a stretched out techno set.

Asonante - Appearances (Original Mix)

The talented Hungarian producer Justrice (@justrice) is the one who brings you the originals of the eight EP of Infinite Depth. Three pretty minimal and dark tracks with strange sounds and an eye for detail. For the remix, the title track ‘Relic’ got an obscure techno touch of Altman (@altmanlive).

The first track of the EP is called ‘Camouflage’. In this track the strange sounds mentioned before are already obviously present. It’s a high tension track which works towards one moment. At this moment the tension has risen till its highest point and immediate falls down unexpectedly, creating an incomprehensible flash. 

The title track ‘Relic’ is a dark piece of art. The horrifying lead combined with the detailed background sounds, are making the track one of the darkest on the label. At the moment you thought you heard everything, some percussion joins to lift the track to its peak.

The Altman remix of ‘Relic’ is a more playful, but still very obscure, techno remix. He brought the horrifying lead a little bit more to the background and added a catchy synth, which makes the track a lot more flowing, but still with a really heavy drop.

The closing track of the EP, called ‘Stallion’, could be seen as the most complicated track of the EP. Justrice is taking the meaning of weird sounds to the a next level and even managed to add unexpected groove in the track.

Dear Deer Records is back with more brilliance, this time from Warung, who serves up four hard-hitting techno rollers to get you in the groove. Chaotic Individuality is first and is a rubbery, rugged groove with mad hits and perc up top to keep things loose. Long Drive then sinks into a slick deep house mould, with smooth grooves all uplifted by vocal coos up top and a warm sense of rising soul. Mujer De La Noche is a cosmic adventure that stretches out over eight minutes. It has punky hits over prickly kicks and pixelated synths weave in and out to great effect. Sabo closes things out with a rugged, industrial-tinged groove that is all-consuming. Dear Deer Records get off to a fine start to 2020 here then.
