This year's first Nachtiville at Weissenhäuser Strand opened with a big fanfare and a great parade. Everyone was hugging each other in the big tent and the speakers were allowed to check out how they handle the red zone for the first time, because this great song was playing. 

Meet Karo (@listentokaro), a Leipzig based producer duo, who have not only made a name for themselves backstage, but above all provided our opening shows (Nachtiville & Nachti) with enchanting, emotional house tracks. Fresh off their fantastic vinyl debut on QC Records, we've got the inside scoop that their next vinyl masterpiece is already revving up…

The two opening tracks are now available for free download on Bandcamp and the pair are looking forward to many plays and loads of donations.

Recorded during the vibrant summer season, our inaugural podcast edition is curated by our co-founder and resident DJ, @b_bbyy.

I've known Julian for a while now, first connecting on dance floors (forever at the front), always present & always moving. My 1st impression of him revolved around the feeling that "he gets it": The power of music, the joy of dancing, & the essential need to part of the collective experience.

We started hanging out alot more in the past year, and every interaction just affairms my initial impressions, on top of discovering the lovely and empathetic human behind the dancer, as well getting to know how great he is a selector. It was a no brainer to invite him to be part of this series and I'm grateful that he accepted.

Here's the mix in his own words:

"After you offered this opportunity to me, I put some thought into what I could contribute to the series and decided to use the unreleased mix I had sent you a while ago, but enriching it with another hour. When I recorded the initial mix back then, I anyway had the type of music in mind that connects the two of us and we both enjoy listening to when we go out. So it made total sense to use this one for the series. But thanks to the 3h format, I was able to now start the mix differently with a more ambient, african percussion and jazz focus. In the end, and looking back at the whole mix, I like to point out that this 3 hour ride consists almost entirely of music from black musicians and really is a tribute and celebration of black artistry in all these different forms, styles, moods and emotions.
