KABO CANA makes his debut on QRUK with I DONT UNDERSTAND, a warped and weighty EP that pulls from UKG, club and experimental sounds. The Manchester-based producer has been making noise with high-energy sets at XLR, SOUP and the Deaf Institute, and this release captures that raw, off-centre energy. The title track is dark, swung and unpredictable full of chopped percussion and heavy low-end pressure. 

On remix duties is UrMUMSBSMT, the Burnley producer whose recent releases on ec2a, Profound Sound and BlueDollarBillz have earned support from big names in the UKG scene. Taking his spin on the title track into a 90s inspired, sub heavy, stripped-back roller.

After a long break of our MC Podcast we made sure we came back stronger, and that's why we are bringing you for our featured artist #5 our very own Varela. 
   He lately has developed a sound that has become a big component of the Texas electronic music scene. His deep involvement with music has been going for long now, and it can be appreciated in this latest selection he did for us in this mix. Trippy background atmos, organic sounds fading in and out, and chords fully present during the whole set, Varela is giving us a full sense of what minimal house music is about.  We are fascinated to have this guy as part of our movement. Let's dance and give a good listen to our guy Varela.

We bring you podcast #018 with our good friend Gabriel I, owner of Tenampa Records based in Mexico City.

Over the years Gabriel has become one of the finest examples of DJ culture from Mexico. Such popularity has made him appear on the radar of the electronic hi-life connoisseurs around the world, gaining wide reception and recognition for his attention to detail and craft.

As for 2011, he embarked on launching Tenampa Recordings onto the International electronic scene. Considered by many, one of the most representative Electronic Record Labels from Mexico. With a respectable amount of important producers signed along the ride.

His solid & defined sound has allowed him to play shows and festivals in more than 20 countries around the world... from Mexico and USA, to Central / South America, to Asia and Europe.

He has shared decks with artists such as:
John Digweed, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice, Seth Troxler, Pete Tong, Sander Kleinenberg, James Zabiela, Marco Carola, and countless more international top talent.

Movement Collective thrives on walking paths that haven’t been beaten yet. A crew with an international scope and an attitude towards music that says “fresh only”. Founded in 2013 in Austin, Texas, Movement Collective is now double based in its founding city as well as Berlin, Germany, and sharing sets weekly on KUAF radio and on the Movement Collective podcast.

With a diverse roster of selectors and producers, Movement Collective aims at giving an unheard and unseen spin to the scenes in Berlin and Austin. With an “esoteric” (Magnetic Magazine) understanding of electronic music, their selectors dig deep into the crates of house and techno music to deliver memorable experiences and broadened horizons.

Establishing GRÜV and MÜV events in Austin as well as TRANSPOSE in Berlin, the Collective sets out to provide sounds that are not necessarily typical for the respective cities. Introducing not only newcomers and genuine styles, but also bringing international bookings to places where they have not been heard yet is part of the Movements quest. There is a strong belief among its members that electronic music is dynamic, ever-changing and a heartfelt endeavour that needs love, care and passion.
